Some don't like the ambiance---BUT

Once you get past the picnic tables, lunch counter, fish market display, and plastic waiting seats out on the sidewalk---this place is a bomb! Probably the best seafood in Ocean & Monmouth County. If you want to experience the "jersey shore" you need to give this place a try. My favorite is the... read more

i love to collect experiences at local places and this fit the bill perfectly. Great local character friendly people and best of all excellent fresh seafood! Girls weekend and this was the place to go for Saturday night dinner. Yummy chowder. Delicious clams. All in all a great place to eat! I loved the Picnic style tables and casual decor.... More

I had a green salad with grilled salmon. It was exactly what I wanted (and bigger than I expected). Yum. My friend had grilled seafood mix with pasta and she loved it. Prices good, service excellent. Eat indoors or out. Very, very casual.

The building is old and small, much of the seating is benches without backs for a place like this to thrive for 70 or 80 years the seafood has to be something else. In season expect long waits. We've been going there for decades. On our most recent visit we started with little neck clams on the half shell they... More

We had not been to Spikes for a couple years. It was still very good. This is a BYOB place and has lots of locals in it. It backs up to the commercial fishing docks. There is always 15-20 different selections of fish. Some pasta selections, of course with fish. They have whole lobster and lobster tail. Waitress was fun... More

Definitely a bit of a dive but Food was great and the wait staff friendly, what more could you ask for from a restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. If you want to avoid the crowd, they can put just about all order to go and eat at home in peace.

This little gem in half restaurant and half fish store. Always fresh food, great staff and just a wonderful place to eat. Super casual, we usually go for lunch and are never disappointed.

Spikes Fish Market is half restaurant (very basic, nothing fancy) and half fish market. Great place for lunch (sandwich menu served until 4 p.m.) and you can count on fresh fish. Off season weekdays are not busy, however, weekends be prepared to wait. Summer is always busy. Wait staff always pleasant and attentive.

Right next to a marina, half restaurant half fish monger, what more could you ask for? We stop by here every so often and it's always a treat. Don't expect fancy table settings, instead great seafood at good prices. Our recent visit was during the lunch rush and our food came out quickly and delish. Accommodating for our baby too.... More
