We were with a group for dinner. This restaurant is pretentious, expensive, and hoping that people won't notice how awful it really is. Prices through the roof, uncomfortable and hot, lousy service, large portions (don't need unless you are a grizzly bear that has had nothing to eat in a very long time), and to top things off, the food... Taste chef must have left the building. Scallops are not scallops, but rounds cut out of shark. Had scallops and shrimp in green sauce....tasteless! Wife had overlooked, dry salmon, but large portion. Sangria was minus the wine, and coffee was dishwater. At $85 per couple, a definite rip off

Have had lunch and catered events - food is okay but heavy on the sauce/butter. Yes the sangria is delicous but the interior is pretty dated. Wait staff is friendly and the portions are good

We went for lunch when it is less crowded. Service is attentive and quick. Lunch specials are available as well as the regular menu. The portions are filling and the food is of excellent quality. The sangria was very good-had it by the glass and it was not watered down or filled with ice cubes! Would return again!

The food was delicious, the sangria was amazing and the portions were huge!! It's always a good time when you eat at El Cid. You can always be sure that you are getting delicious food.

El Cid offers high quality lobster, steaks, and Spanish dishes. Their portions are insanely large. (Twin lobsters are really triplets. Meat entrees for one are enough for three.) The restaurant is attractive but gets noisy when busy. In spite of excellent food, they miss being a gourmet choice because they seems to value turn over of tables over a dining... More

Never have I been disappointed here. Been going here since 1997! Always I opt for red Sangria, Gamba's al ajillo, Chorizo ( appetizers good for 3) and LANGOSTINOS with hot bell peppers (delivered in a large hot skillet). Steaks are always fantastic ... but huge. Can't go wrong with this place and the owner knows his business!!

Friends in Northern NJ took us here a few years ago and we now go evey year when we visit. I love Spanish (as compared with Mexican) food but the Prime Rib here will searve 3 people easily. So even though it is over $40 it can be shared and - at that price - a bargain! And watch your... More

The portions are huge and the seafood is so fresh. Our server was wonderful, as the rest of the staff. I highly recommend the white sangria, it was as good as the sangria I had when I visited Spain! I also recommend being patient, there is no reservations but we had a drink at the bar and in about 30... More
