Old School joint like you only find in Jersey. An institution. You must know what you going to get in a place like this and The Fireplace will deliver it. Smooth operation. I'd wish it was less expensive for sure. My second time here and I'll be back. The fixins bar is straight up.

Terrible service. The man behind the counter was rude, condescending and thought it was annoying to have to help us clarify something we asked about the menu. When I first said hello, he just looked straight at me, not even acknowledging the greeting, let alone returning it - When we(my wife & I) eventually got the food, we ate as... More

What's not to like? The place is clean, the food is basic and good, the service is prompt and efficient, the ambiance is dated but family-friendly and the prices will not bust the budget. We both had their steak sandwich: a hard roll piled high with sliced steak done exactly as ordered.

We have gone to this old time burger joint for many years. The burgers are cooked on a fireplace exactly as you order them. Cooked to perfection. Their fries are average. Their prices are very readonable. They have nice topping that you can put on your burgers free of charge.

Located right on Rt. 17 in Paramus, this is the kind of place that we used to see. Walk up to the counter and order from the big board -- we had the Jersey Burger -- hamburg, Taylor Ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato on a bun, cajun sweet potato fries, cokes. Order came out quickly reasonable price. Find a table... More

My wife & I make it a point to stop by every few months. It's my home away from home. Nice cheesesteaks. A nice place you can relax at, and stay awhile. Nothing special about the food, but as a whole, its a nice place to visit. Make sure to try the pickles!

Usually we go to this restaurant to have breakfast on either Saturday or Sunday mornings. It is nice because they have a full menu and you can bring a newspaper and read while you eat. They will give you a tray and buzzer to let you know when food is ready and you pay when you pick it up. It... More

I was here last night, go every few months. It's very reasonable, food is good, and you know what you are going to get. It's a burger joint, you don't get served, you place your order, get your food at the counter and sit down. It's really no different from when I went as a kid, 25 years ago, the... More

I started going to the Fireplace in high school, but since moving away hadn't been there in a while. Got a chance to return while visiting family and its still terrific. The food is char broiled, plentiful and very reasonably priced. I particularly like the onion rings, and the milk shakes. It's conveniently located too.

The upper level is pizza and ice cream, the lower for rapid-prep sandwiches. Our fish sandwiches and fries were okay, nothing special, but a near-by diner had a sliced steak sandwich that looked awesome. Breakfast available only until 11:00 am so I cannot comment there. We entered by the side and saw plenty of people sitting at tables, but there... More
