Old Time Ice Cream Parlor

There's a vast ice cream menu, and that's this place's draw. There is also an extensive sandwich menu, but first and foremost, this is an ice cream parlor as that description used to be used! Go inside and look around, but the weather makes it remotely possible, get your ice cream to go, so you... read more

We went for breakfast. We were seated directly next to the cash register where the manager stands at all times. No one offered menus or drinks and after 10 minutes, we decided to leave. As we left, a waitress (standing next to the manager) told us that the other waiter would be with us "in a few minutes" and that... More

This is only for the ice cream side, since I did not eat a meal here. One of the worst milkshakes I ever had. Watery with zero flavor.

I felt like I was in a scene out of "It's A Wonderful Life". In business since 1901, a neat old timey feel adds it's charm to some great ice cream! We didn't get a chance to do much more, since we wandered in five minutes before they closed!

I had a great dinner at Nagles. The price was fantastic and the food was delicious. It is a quaint cafe located close to all the Inns

This is a must stop for ice cream. The flavors are abundant and the walk up window and old fashioned setting are a wonderful throw back.

Good luck with your venture. I left for California after the destruction of the North End Hotel in 1978. Previous to this, with the destruction, in 1974, of the classic Mayfair Theater along Wesley Lake, the destruction of Asbury Park had begun. Asbury Park is now a ghost town, and Ocean Grove remains a shadow of its former self. So... More

Best soft serve ice cream.... The kids who work there are friendly and cheery. Worth the wait in line plus you get to meet your neighbors!!!

I lived in Ocean Grove for years and this used to be a pharmacy for years. It had a small soda jerk that made soda shakes and egg creams. Now it a great place to eat but they kept all the look of the pharmacy. Its over a hundred years old easy so the history is great and the walls... More

Nagle's serves ice cream from a walk-up window, and has an old-fashioned indoor seating dining area. It's particularly useful as a good stand-by restaurant when visiting Ocean Grove in off-season (before Memorial Day, after Labor Day).
