Went from NYC here for dinner, excellent seafood and excellent white wine. Absolute must have: pork chops with clams and roasted potatoes! Worth a visit definitely, delicious food!

Excellent seafood. I always try something different and i have never been disappointed. If you're adventurous, try something that the locals might order, like bacalao, beef tongue, or feijoada. Its all good.

If you love fresh seafood, this is the place. My second time here. The paella was SOOO good. (I took it home and ate it the next day). The hardest thing is chosing what to order. Think of this as family style dining to keep the prices down. Free parking across the street is a bonus (It's good policy to... More

What fantastic food! Even at 4:45 pm on a Sunday, the restaurant was almost full, and with so many languages being spoken, I felt like I was in another country. The Valencia paella with seafood, chicken and sausage was cooked to perfection, and one order was more than enough for 2 people. The red sangria was the ideal summer thirst... More

We went to this restaurant fairly early, around 5:15. We were going to a soccer game at Red Bull arena across the river.(an easy walk by the way). to their credit they seated us quickly with no reservation, and the place was busy, probably because of the game. Service wasn't bad but they lost one of our two apps and... More

This is an outstanding "down neck Newark" restaurant usually filled with locals. That's an excellent recommendation on its' own. If you listen to the chatter, you'd imagine you were dining in any Portugese town. I brought Florida friends here for the first time and they said that's there's nothing to match it at home. We shared appetizers of shrimp in... More

Have been there a few times in the past, but not recently. Each time we were there we were well taken care of by the server and experienced delicious food. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Newark.

The portions here are so gigantic you're almost certain to leave with a doggy bag. We just returned from two weeks in Portugal and thought we'd re-experience the cuisine for a night. Of all the places in Newark's Ironbound neighborhood, this one seems to be the most popular. I can see why. The food is excellent and the service quiclk,... More

Let me start by saying that service was very very slow. We were seated at 6:45 and did not have our dinner served until 8:00. My husband ordered the whole red snapper which he claimed was delicious and it did look delicious. I made the mistake of ordering the stuffed whole lobster. When order I questioned the waiter several times... More

The restaurant was mostly Portuguese - waitstaff and diners. I am not sure the waitstaff knew what to do with us and all of our questions. They for sure should have told us not to order an entree for everyone in our party. Eat family style and you will be much happier. The octopus and calamari were tender and cooked... More
