Went there for Father's Day dinner. Place was packed, had to wait about 45 minutes, there is no hostess, just find the sign in book and enter your name and number of guests. Had the Fried Calamari for appetizer, my daughter wanted fresh oysters, which she learned had sold out and was offered fresh clams on the half shell. Calamari... More

One will not leave hungry at seabea's but make sure you have plenty of free time because the is extremely slow. We had the seafood platter for 2 for $45. Outstanding! It came with large lobster tail, clams, mussels, calamari, oyster and rice. More than enough for two. Appetizers were average and as I mentioned service was very slow. Seafood... More

I have been to seabras many times and always enjoyed the excellent seafood. A recent visit on a tuesday was remarkable for being so much out of character. The resturant is normally crowded but on tuesday it was nearly empty. I secured choice seating at a table by the front window but when the food was served i realized the... More

This place has amazing seafood at amazing proportions. Easy walk from Newark's Penn Station and well worth the journey- the food was great. The crowd sunday night was a bit intense, but glad we waited it out.

We've heard about the Portuguese section of Newark for quite a while so when we finally got there it was with high expectations. Seabra's didn't disappoint. Just walking in the door we knew we were in someplace special. All the little bites lined up behind the bar, the fresh fish display we passed on the way to the dining room,... More

We went to the Ironbound with the in-laws and our baby for a family dinner. We liked the communal style tables. It was a bustling Saturday night. Everyone enjoyed their dish. The portions were so huge. We ordered a kids fish dinner and it was the size of an adult's meal. The food was a tad on the greasy side... More

Since January 2013, we have been eating at Seabra's once a week because they have the best Portuguese food around at a reasonable cost. Plus you don't have to cook the next day, because there is plenty to take home and it will taste equally good next day. Last Monday I had a perfectly made hallibut with vegetables. My husband... This place is unbelievable! I ordered the platter that see you pictured for me and my 6' 3" husband. It was so delicious! We went on a Saturday evening and it was packed when we arrived and remained that way until we left at around 10 p.m. It's a small restaurant so plan on sitting closely with strangers. Good thing... How disappointed I am in my recent trip to Seabras. I have been coming here for over ten years. Tonight, after an extended hiatus we returned. Prices up, portions down, quality: out the window. I guess they figure that they can ride their reputation for the near future. But, it will catch up to them. Please, boys, go back to... More

If the only reason to come to this restaurant were the food, it would be 100% worth it!!! But it offers a lot more, like a wrap around bar where you can try the usual and not so...try the little fried fish head on, its amazing! The shrimp is delicious, the bartender will mix the sauce right in front of... More
