I went there for a date on Saturday early night. Very spanish-like decor and cozy place. We ordered sardin for appetizer and it was good. Fish and shrimps for entree. They were excellent. The dessert, espresso and dessert wine were all fantastic. This place made our date romantic.

Delicious food but the portions are huge. You will probably bring home tomorrow's lunch if you dine here tonight.

We both wanted the paella and had no idea how big it was. The waiter kindly recommended we get one dish and share. It was plenty, and still some left over. That was a cool gesture, because it was not really in his interest to talk us out of an order. The paella was good, the sangria good, service was... More

I was part of a 'team dinner' hosted by my company on the night before a customer conference. Our party numbered about 30. After a stop at the bar, we were escorted to a private dining area downstairs, which was well suited for the number of people. We had the full attention of two waiters, who were occasionally helped by... More

Came here for a business dinner and was raving to everyone how great it was. I had not been to Spanish Tavern for many years, but the reviews seemed to reflect that it was as good as it ever was. My opinion is that the food was "good", but not "great". I ordered the clams oreganata - it was not... More

Visited this place twice in April 2013, once with a party of 25, then with a party of 6. On both occasions the service, food and experience was flawless. The food is very good across the board - I saw a range of over a dozen different dishes delivered to my table all of which were delicious both to look... More

You can always count on a great Portuguese style meal here. We stopped here again after seeing a show in NYC. A much better alternative than trying to find a place to eat in Manhattan during busy mealtime hours. The only 'con' I may have to share is what is happening all over. Portions are getting smaller. We've been going here... More

This place actually came and picked us up from the hotel (Courtyard by Marriott at the Newark airport) so it was a pretty easy decision. I was kind of surprised how upscale the interior was. All the servers were very formal, but it did make the experience a little awkward. Everything was just so rigid, and there was even a... More
