Friendly staff, plenty of good food

Had dinner with my daughters before a concert at the Pru Center. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was quite enjoyable and the prices were reasonable. It was very much worth the walk over from the venue.

I'm from ChiTown, so when I saw the posted sign directing me to the Spanish Tavern; I immediately thought...seafood tacos i.e. Mexican food. If it the sign reads, "Spanish" it's Mexican food hands down in my town! As I reflect...maybe it was the word, "Tavern" that I tripped over. However, to my surprise I entered a fabulous eatery with tables... More

Spanish Tavern provides complimentary shuttle service from nearby airport hotels. Quality and quantity, excellent. Very flavorful, soup is complimentary and good. Pricing and service excellent. Better alternative than hotel restaurant. Can't imagine anyone would be disappointed.

Recently nearby for an event and called for a very last minute reservation. The owner graciously accepted our reservations. The wait was pleasant and other patrons were friendly. The food was deliciously prepared and the staff very attentive. The place was packed yet our meals were delivered timely and hot!! Everything was delicious from the sangria to the steaks

Later in the day and needed a restaurant for 8. They fit us in and much to our surprise we had an excellent evening. The food was wonderful, a little pricey, but our servers were exceptional. We were very well taken care of, but not hovered over. We enjoyed ourselves and had a nice little walk back to the Hilton.... More

Took a group of 15 out for a work dinner. Great wine selection and food choices. Everyone enjoyed their meals and desserts. I personally have been coming to Newark for over ten years and have always made this a stop. Always quality food and service at an excellent price.
