I made reservations and arrived on time. There was a couple in front of us in line waiting to be seated. The female hostess ignored us the entire time we waited. The 1st couple were seated and so were the couple that came after us. We were left standing there and the hostess never came back. While standing there we... More

Thus Portuguese restaurant is very cute inside and the food and service were excellent. The waiters were so nice and accommodating. We had the garlic shrimp and the surf and turf. Both were very tasty and cooked just right. The bread was very fresh and delicious. My one small complaint is about the Portuguese potatoes...I like when they are very... More

The food is always excellent, from appetizers to the main course. Love the fresh and high quality seafood. However the service is not great, the waiters are very moody and sometimes impolite. But I love the food, I definitely recommend this place.

This is an update to a previous review one year ago. Upon revisiting this restaurant, I still feel it is the best of all the Portuguese restaurants in Newark in terms of the food and atmosphere. The front room is bland, but sit in the back for a more charming atmosphere. There is no upscale service in this restaurant. While... More

Newark's Ironbound neighborhood has some great Spanish and Portuguese restaurants, including Forno's, Adega, and others. This one is right up there. Excellent wine list, interesting appetizers, and great seafood and paella.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is always good. They have plenty of variety. My favorite dish is 'Carne de Porco à Alentejana' which is extremely good there not to mention the Paehla.. yum yum.. lets not forget the Sangria. I love the red. The bread there is also top quality. The prices there are also very... More

You have to ask for the stuffed crab, for some reason they are not on the menu. The crabs are flown in from Portugal on Thursdays. There are two kinds, warm oven baked small crabs, which come about 4 to 5 on a plate, or the large stuffed cold crab which is eaten like a spread over bread. Both are... More

I was there this past Sunday and the owner is completely full of himself. He mistreated my guests in front of the entire restaurant, everyone was staring. I had made reservations a few days in advance and once I get there my table is smack right the middle with no room to sit or move.People who did not have a... More

Huge portions and great food. Asked for the Squids and the amount of potatoes was huge! It was also tasty and grilled right to the point.
