Very, very generous portions. I got the pork and crab special which came with 3 large pieces of meat stuffed with crab. On top of that the side of mashed potatoes could have been a meal itself. We shared an appy at our table of 5 and I wouldn't recommend more than that unless you've got the... read more

If you're in the Ironbound this is one of the places to eat. The food is always good and the price is right. The staff is always nice too. They're lobster is great and they're steaks are great too.

I asked a local Portuguese friend for a good place that's not on the map - he recommended Sol-Mar and I'm glad he did. The restaurant has two sections - a casual bar area and a more formal dining area. Both seemed to be filled with locals. The food was yummy, sangria was tasty. I asked the waiter (who's been... My boss took me to dinner here and NJPAC after. I had never been to Iron Bound section for Portuguese food. We walked in a side door into a party room. Through a few more rooms we arrived. A festive atmosphere with tables full. Sausage bread delish but not complimentary. We had a shrimp app. and I had monkfish spec.... More

We saw this place on one of our visit to Newark. My husband and I decided to try it tonight. We had No trouble finding a table. The food was good. My husband was quite happy with his meal and so am I. The portion of food was generous. Prices were reasonable. They served complimentary bread which is typical for... More

I was brought here by a Portuguese friend who had claimed this restaurant had great food. I was very glad to have gone with him. You can eat more casual in the bar area or have a more upscale dining experience in the adjacent dining room. The food selection was outstanding, The sizes were very large and the prices were... We had a Saturday night reservation but the restaurant wasn't crazy packed so not having a reservation for 10 people wouldn't have been a long wait. My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon medium rare, mine a bit more on the medium side, hubby was perfect to order. The price was amazing for the amount of meat we... More

After a long day... And traveling through NJ we made our annual pit stop! Reservations were accepted... Place was NOISY, NOISY, NOISY!!!!!! Table appetizers as always were delicious... Dinner was good- portions were decent... Love the desserts and coffee. Waiters are efficient, friendly and eager to please! Never had a bad meal in 10 years!!!!
