There are several Spanish/Portuguese restaurant in what’s called the Ironbound area of Newark just blocks from Penn Station. This one in particular is almost a landmark and is well known in the area. To experience Ironbound you could do worse going here. The place is expansive and has its own parking lot with attendant. An outdoor patio greats you as... More

We made a reservation thru their website, and were seated right on time. (My guess is that if we went on a Friday or Saturday night, this would not have been the case). That said, the hostess, maître d', and servers were all personable and attentive. They promptly took our drink order and supplied us with large basket of breads... More

Fabulous food, excellent service. Olives, oil, and a variety of breads start the meal. There are so many great dishes from the usual Paella to Salmon Gratinee (Salmon sitting on shrimp, surrounded by a cheese/asparagus sauce. It is a bit pricey, but you can enjoy excellent service, fine table linens, Spotless floors, restrooms, etc. Walk in the rear door and... More

This is where my husband proposed to me and we try and go here every year to celebrate our anniversary. I've never been disappointed. Last night i had filet mignon. It was cooked perfect! The potato chips however could have been cooked more because none of them were crispy. I also love the fact that you can dress fancy or... More

Reservations are not honored, we were there early and were seated 25 minutes after our reservation. You would think that a restaurant 4 blocks from the Prudential Center would train their staff to deal with large crowds before a show, but they didn't. They acted like it was so unusual for them to be so busy. They dropped the communal... More

This use to be the place for great Spanish food. Now their menu reads more like a diner. They need to get back to basics.
