What a great meal for a first timer at this restaurant. Had a wonderful meal here in early December on a Monday night. really enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and the paella. More than enough to share for two people. Would go back for dinner when again in Newark. On the pricey side but worth it.

My husband and I went to a private party at this restaurant tonight and we were blown away! Not only was the food delicious, each person's serving was enough for three. Everyone in the party had to take a doggy bag home with them. And the restaurant was prepared for that. The staff was extremely helpful to everyone and attentive.... More

We were here Thanksgiving week end with friends who return regularly. Since it was my first experience I looked forward to the experience hearing them rave about it. I was NOT disappointed. The service was wonderful, the bread they serve as a courtesy was delicious and before we knew it a HUGE salad we hadn't ordered arrived for the four... More

For the past 7 years I've been a regular diner at Forno's. Each time I have not been disappointed. The food, service, portions, and value are excellent. They start you with a very nice and large salad with fresh greens, tomatoes, onions, and hearts of palm. As soon as that is served (and it is at no charge) they bring... More

Had dinner there with friends, the waiters were extremely helpful with the menu, and were constantly around to check on how the food was etc. Bread with olive oil was served prior to us ordering, I had fish and my friends both had paella. The meals were a good size and were enjoyed by all. Couldn't fit in desert. Highly... More

My family and I were going to a event in Newark and needed a good central place to meet and eat. I've been here many times over the last 25-30 years and while it has not been spectacular it has been dependable. Plus, they have parking. My clan met here when they opened at noon on Sunday and were seated... More

Newark's Ironbound neighborhood has many Spanish and Portuguese restaurants, and this is one of the best. Excellent wine list, wonderful entrees, and very good service. They start you with a complimentary salad that could feed an army. Try the Paella or other seafood dishes. Tons of great fish and nicely spiced. Rely on the waiters to recommend a great Spanish... This is my favorite restaurant anywhere. Those unfamiliar with the local area are surprised to find such a gem near Newark. They serve incredible, authentic Portuguese and Spanish dishes, in a nice but comfortable white table cloth environment with murals decorating the walls. I'm not kidding when I say that I've had clients take doggy bags on planes from after... More
