Good thing it is closed. When it opened at first it was very good. In less than a month the quality of the food dramatically went down the toilet.

We were looking forward to it, but it's closed. As of Feb 2014, their web site is still up, but the building is boarded up tight. A brief walk down the street is Hobby's Deli, where the owner confirmed that Je's is closed. Hobby's was great!

I took a friend here for a Sunday breakfast. She lives in an area where there is nothing like Je's, so rather than do a diner, this seemed an excellent alternative. She loves eggs and grits, so this place was a sure bet to make her happy. Nice atmosphere, good food, good service, and nice people. This area is changing... More

This is a local eatery with a well earned reputation for good service and great food. The fact that on Sunday afternoons there is often a line formed outside tells the tale.

I lived in Newark years ago and the food was good then and it is still good now!! Generous portions and served hot.

Love the mac-n-cheese, 'nana puddin, and the corn bread. Feels like the Carolinas. Prices are high, but it's cheaper than flying to Charlotte.

My husband and i freguently eat breakfast/brunch at Je's on Sunday mornings after church. We have never been dissapointed with the service or food. The servers, especially Tracey and Lucy, are some of friendliest most attentive servers you will find in any restaurant as busy as this. And did i mention the food? The food is always cooked to perfection... More

I stepped in this city treasure for breakfast and it was filled with the local who's who. Sometimes you can see Booker, or Baraka, or some other name in here, and that's what makes it a hot item. The food is decent Southern flair, but I'm a descendant of Louisiana fabulosity so the food aiight. I'll go again because it... More

Yams and collard greens are delicious! Reminds me of going to grandma's house for Sunday dinner. Portions are generous and service is smooth. My friend had the smothered pork chop and mac and cheese - good too.
