I went to this restaurant based on TA reviews. The appetizers of sausage and garlic shrimp were very good. The entrees we had were mixed in quality. I had garlic chicken, more tender at other Ironbound restaurants. I was disappointed that it came with no green veggies. The arroz con pollo was very moist and flavorful. The short ribs weren't... Tried the "Grilled Skate Fish" which was unique in flavor and texture but was served with huge portions of fresh vegetables. We ate at the bar and were brought little dessert samples from the kitchen after our meal which I thought was a nice touch.

My wife and I first went here back in 1984 it was good then and is even better now. Recently there and the food was fantastic. Started with a nice chicken noodle soup. Followed up with appetizer of shrimp and garlic (excellent). My wife had the Paella Valencia, I had the Veal chops. Both main courses were seasoned perfectly and... More

My wife is a Brasilian from Newark and this was their "official" home away from home. Now, it's mine also. They start you off with a big bowl of the soup of the day, served by a waiter carrying the pot with a ladle. Then, there's the never ending basket of perfect rolls and butter. Oh, the service is excellent.... More

I went for dinner with friends. Everything was good, except for my sirloin. It was over 3/4 fat, the type of fat that you cannot chew. I should have sent it back, but did not. Hopefully if I go again, it will not happen.

Been coming to Spanish Sangria for 25 years and have never been disappointed. Consistent quality, whether it's meat, seafood or veggies. Paella second to none. And, of course, the best red sangria ever.

I visited the restaurant this past Sunday with high expectations after reading past reviews. Our bread, sangria, and soup arrived in a timely fashion, but we waited a very long time for our entrees to arrive. When they did, portions were partially cold. My friend's vegetables were ice cold and undercooked. My shrimp dish was tasty, but some of the... More
