This is my main place to a delicious BBQ chicken. Served with a great hot sauce, isn't overly spicy but on point and flavorful.

If you want authentic pottuguese food than portugalia is the restauarant for you, jammed with locals speaking the native language makes you feel like you are in portugal. I come here very often and when people ask me where to go eat in the ironbound i recommend portugalia

We had lunch on a Friday. The dining room entrance is awkward as you walk right into the folks eating and no one to greet you & seat you. Waiter came by directed us to only 2 tables avail as many were reserved. We sat right by the entrance, but better than other option of sitting by bathroom & waiter... More

often when you go into a restaurant and when you see the place bubbling in native language you know it's got t o be good or why would they go to eat what they could otherwise cook better at home. Place a little confusing because it is small and at first we weren't sure where to go to be seated.... More

Love this restaurant. Has a bar connecting to it. Many times it gets crowded do to soccer matches televised from Europe. Food is delicious. From the different meat selection, to chicken they cook it to a perfection. Can't wait to go back!

Portugalia was recommended by a New Jersey friend who frequently dines in the Ironbound area. Our decision to eat there was also influenced by numerous positive comments found on TripAdvisor. We dined at Portugalia on a Saturday evening and the place was jamming. This restaurant was filled with Portuguese-speaking locals who were clearly enjoying themselves. Sitting at a tall table...
