Sure they have much much more on the menu but for my money the corned beef is the way to go. We come here prior to going to NJ Devils games and the corned beef is always spot on and fresh. If my son does not go with me to the game, he always requests to bring home a sandwich... More

Hobby's Deli is a 52 year old Kosher deli in downtown Newark, NJ., owned & operated by the sons of the original owner, Sam. Traditional Kosher deli foods served by attentive long time wait staff. Home made quality food items served here & complimentary pickles & tomatoes on the table at lunch is a big hit. Street parking available but... More

A classic NYC deli a block off the main drag in scenic downtown Newark. Great for take out for a flight out of EWR (12min away). About 2 blocks from the hockey arena and better food than the joints near the rink. But let's face it, if you're here it's probably because you're lost.

The menu was extensive, the food was well made and fresh and the service was super friendly and nice. Maybe it is better to go when it is not crowded like when we were there. Even the owner Mark was chatting with us. It was a great Jewish deli that is hard to find. No gimmicks, just a great place... More

Stumbled across this place for lunch. Loved the homemade pickles on the table. Portions and quality of food were exceptional. Waitress even "busted" me for ordering a diet coke with the steak and cheese :) Food was lightening fast out of the kitchen and I can't say enough about the size of the portions - my sub was massive and... A bit difficult to find and park, but the food and experience was great. We had turkey sandwiches and asked the waitress to put anything on the sandwich that would taste good. It came with cole slaw and Russian dressing, and it was awesome! I also had a French Vanilla cupcake for dessert and it was delicious, but small.

We go here for lunch regularly! The food is consistently very good. The burgers are exceptional and are wY way better than the trendy burger spots. The also have a Mediterranean chicken platter that comes with hummus, pita, and Israeli salad. This is probably my favorite dish. The matzoh ball and all the chicken soups are very good as well.... We go here before Devils games. Large overstuffed sandwiches, pleasant workers and an interesting decor of Devils' memorabilia make this is agreat place!

one would not expect to find a deli of this nature in downtown newark. the food was very good, simple, reminiscent of lower east side delis that i remember from 30 years ago in NYC. the only complaint was a bit pricey considering location and atmosphere. portions are as expected - big!
