We chose to sit outside as it was loud inside, tried a set of tapas and washed it down with some portuguese wine...loved the stuffed pepper, the meatballs were ok, but did not enjoy the chicken skewers too much... Service was good, the staff helpful and friendly, but did not find the food outstanding...

The food is always great as well as the service. Tuesday nights are half priced wine. Great selection of wines at 50%, can't go wrong with that.

Tried dinner at Mompou today with some friends and was very pleased with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. The wine menu, mostly comprised of Portuguese and Spanish wines was broad in both varieties and price points and our waiter made an excellent suggestion for us. The tapas as well as the main courses were all delicious -... More

Mampou is a real gem in the midst of Newark. I particularly liked the patio in the back enjoying the lovely weather and having a delicious meal. My salad was unusual in that it was a combination of green asparagus, water melon, and tomatoes with a delicious balsamic dressing. I chose this salad because I haven't had one like this... More

We loved this restaurant the first time, and had to go back with friends. Just as wonderful the second time. The stuffed peppers are really unique and delicious. Everything is served beautifully and with care. Both servers we had were pleasant and provided great advice. My husband and I do not generally order dessert, but if we do, we share... More

Headed here on a Sunday afternoon to watch some world cup soccer and drink Sangria. They have a lovely patio in the back with a tv screen, where we watched the game, and we enjoyed the white sangria. A large pitchers is about 5 glasses.

Mompou is a delight with Brazilian rhythms and an amazing array of small and large plates you cannot go wrong. We always start off with a cocktail and a few small plates and see where the moods take us. The background music is a mix of live and recorded fare but always setting a chill ambiance for the crowd.
