Good Ethiopian food, the cultural experience was good. The ambiance excellent. Service was a bit slow. But overall a good night.

Makeda is centrally located in New Brunswick. Delicious Ethiopian food-love the vegetarian mix platter-you will not leave hungry. Helpful staff.

Ethiopian food is very good and your children - and maybe yourself - will have fun because there is no utensils = you use thin crepes to grab vegetables and meat with your fingers! Even if almost everything in your plate is cooked in a sauce, this is not gross at all, though you will find your napkin very useful.... More

Food was great! The ambiance was fantastic! The staff super friendly and took their time to explain the native food. The owner was also there and was super attentive and nice. I will go back to this establishment.

Liked the: - Great music - Good food - Friendly staff Disliked: - The fact that the bartender had to struggle with a couple dirty vodka martinis (until another friendly server intervened)

The food was delicious! I had the vegetarian combo plate and my husband had shrimp tibs, we both ate every bit of our meals. The seasoning was perfect for both dishes. Our server was attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed the Devore and atmosphere as well. We'll definitely return!

Despite the "we'll get to you when we like" service, we keep going back because the food is so unique and delicious. The sampler platters (meat or fish) are enormous and one is more than enough for two. Wear something you're ready to take to the dry cleaners because your clothes will retain the Makeda odor.

Never had Ethiopian food before! But went here once I can't say it met or didn't meet my expectations since I've never had that type of food before but it was pleasing to my pallet and I was not disappointed so for that I give a 5*

Nice atmosphere, good service, decent wine selection and great food. Recommend trying one of platters for two. They have a meat and a seafood which will allow you to become familiar with their food quicker in a visit or two. Some of the dishes are a little spicy but equally full of flavor so it's not just heat...

Poor food, what is served is not what is described and ordered. The dishes are very expensive and. It worth what you pay by any measure of quality.
