Excellent food, moderate prices

My wife and I are tomato basil soup enthusiasts (fanatics?). We both believe this soup at this restaurant is our # 1! The sea bass was superb and the very large Caesar salad was very fresh although some may think the dressing slightly less tangy than most seeming to have less of an anchovy taste. I... read more

The food is so good here and the environment is not pretentious. Would recommend for a night out. Eat at Rafferty's, then go to a show at the Stage Theatre.

Ate on a weekday early. Son had the one pound mussels with garlic wine sauce ($9.95) which was served with garlic bread. He loved them. We split sweet potato fries ($4). He got the short mac'n cheese ($12.95) which was large serving of orrechiette topped by a couple boneless pieces of short rib. He really enjoyed that and had half... More

Because of good reviews on TA, we chose to eat at Old Man Rafferty's after a matinee performance of the NJSO. Running a bit later than our 5 pm reservation I called ahead to be sure the table would be held, and it was. Our experience was disappointing. Service was very slow. Water was not offered and when asked for... More

We were there on Sun. Jan 25th. I had made the reservation for 5 pm and we arrived around 5:15 and were seated promptly. We had tix to see the 7 pm show at the George St. Playhouse and I wanted to leave plenty of time to eat a leisurely dinner. For the appetizer, I ordered the new england clam... More

The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday evening. However our server was very attentive and made us feel like we were his only customers. We enjoyed appetizers, the younger girls ordered burgers (they were huge) and the others in r group really enjoyed fish, chicken and pasta. Unfortunately no room for dessert. Certainly a do over. Don't bother looking... More

The Sunday buffet is excellent. The service could use some polishing they are not alway on top of what is needed at the table and attuned to the needs of the customers. However the food is great.

Our daughter lives close by and does frequent this restaurant and thought we would also like to visit it on our trip back East recently. Large menu with vegan and meat dishes. We especially enjoyed talking and choosing our drinks. We had the Elder Flower Cosmo. Wow...delicious. We had to have 2 because they go down to quickly. Very nice... More

Good spot if you're looking for casual dining, good food, and good prices. We game here before the basketball game and had a good dinner. The service and atmosphere were good. The menu had a nice selection of meat, fish, and salads. We would come back again.

Each time my family and I visit New Brunswick, NJ, I enjoy eating here. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is delicious. We have never had a bad meal. The wait staff is prompt and very responsive to your every need. Although they take reservations, there is little time to wait even on their busiest weekend nights. We... More
