This is a firmly established place in New Brunswick not far from the Rutgers University campus. Food and atmosphere are very good. There are public parking lots convenient.

Very satisfying meal with timely service on a busy evening. My dinner salad was very fresh and wth a tasty dressing. The added shrimp we good but a bit small but there were a lot of them. Not gourmet food but a good solid meal.

There are plenty of restaurants in New Brunswick to choose from but Old Man Rafferty's is ALWAYS packed and for good reason. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I have to admit the service was a bit slow, however, I never felt ignored and I prefer a slow paced meal. I am sure if we had... More

So the review here is a bit mixed. The atmosphere is young and fun. We had a BLT and a pulled Pork sandwich both were large portions and tasted very good. The bad was the service. The waitress did not come around very often so as a result we got fries but no kechup. My daughter ordered a lemonade and... More

Our group basically invaded Old Man Rafferty's last night. Despite the fact that they were already packed, they found a place for all 23 of us together and did a fantastic job of breaking up and serving the table. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and they did a good job taking care of our needs. By the way- make sure... More

Everything was ok. It's definitely not 5 star dining but then again , it doesn't seem to try to be. There were 7 of us and we ordered a fairly wide variety of entrees. The salmon was quite good. The steaks we cooked as requested, although they were nothing special. Desserts were pretty good. Service was ok, a little slow... More

There is a reason many alumni go back to Rafferty's during alumni weekends, and after the big games. The food is always a consistent quality, and the range of food options places rafferty's in a category of it's own in the New Briunswick scene. No meal should be complete without a tasting of the bakery offerings.

My husband and I had our first date here, so when my son suggested we go there for dinner, I was looking forward to the evening. It was just AWFUL. We ordered our entire meal pretty quickly, and salad, soup and beverages came within 10 minutes. Then MORE THAN 45 MINUTES LATER, we still had not been served our entrees.... More
