Graduation Dinner

Went for a graduation dinner. Very pricey, but very good food and excellent service. Good for a celebration or a fancy night out.

Ambient atmosphere with the most promising narrative presentations of the menu offerings I have ever heard roll from the tongue of our waiter. At the end of his presentation, we were salivating in anticipation of the most sumpteous meals ever prepared on this side of heaven. What we received were dishes prepared in hell; everything was over cooked and uninspiringly... More

I asked for a medium cheese burger, the meat came out RAW! Sent it back, came back Medium RARE with a chunk of unmelted cheese on top! The steak fries tasted as if fried at least three times...and were beyond "crispy" with no taste other than that of the oil. No salt on the meal...if you ask for salt you... More

we had made reservations for a pre-show meal. we surprised to find that it was truffle season in the south of France, so we were treated to a fabulous meal with truffles included in every dish. the fois grois melted on the tongue. the truffle ravioli was outstanding. the sommelier was so knowledgeable that our wine pick turned out to... I ordered a hamburger well done. It came very rare and I sent it back. The waiter brought it back cooked until it was black and totally dried out - on the same soggy roll. Really gross and I could not eat it. The bill came and included the charge for the hamburger. I said that I would like to... More

Food: The food is really good, well prepared and an imaginative menu. I had the duck breast that was wonderful and surprisingly reasonably priced (see below). Service: The serving staff appears to be for a different planet than the kitchen staff. Uninterested, underdressed, inattentive. Such stark contrast to the quality of the food. Prices: The prices are quite steep, even... More

We stayed coming here several years ago when they made the list for best burger in NJ. It is absolutely worth the trip from bergen county down to new Brunswick hands down. The restaurant itself only serves the burgers in the bar area. I would not recommend any kids as the menu is not kid friendly at all. The burger... More

My wife and I had tickets to a comedy show at the State Theater in New Brunswick. We made reservations for dinner close to show time as the theater is a few yards away. We ordered cocktails to knock off the chill from walking to the restaurant. Our drinks were expertly prepared and quickly consumed. We had reviewed the menu... More

This is my 3rd time at Stage Left. I have always thought this to be 1 of NJ's best restaurants....but I will need to reevaluate after my last visit. The wine-list is of course exemplary. Menu had Steak, Chicken, Fish & Pork. The pork-belly appetizer was excellent. But, the Chicken & Sea-bass were dry. The wagyu steak was not as... More
