Had an appointment in New Brunswick so we thought we would stop somewhere nearby for lunch. I checked the web for a place,LOOKED good so we took a chance. When we walked in the place had an odor like dirty mops, and it was dark and dingy. The waitress was lovely and attentive. I ordered onion soup and a wrap.... More

Had dinner with friends at George St Alehouse recently. Was seated downstairs which is devoid of atmosphere. Service was friendly and good. Food was average. Those who ordered ale/beer enjoyed it. There are more interesting, better and comparably priced restaurants in New Brunswick

We went here before a Rutgers game with a Groupon. Food was good, our waitress was on the ball, and it was a nice atmosphere. We would definitely return.

New Brunswick has many outstanding restaurants that deliver fabulous food over a wide range of cuisines and prices. However, when you hanker for simple fare at a reasonable price, the George Street Ale House certainly delivers. . We made our first visit with another couple prior to a play at the George Street Playhouse. Two of us had the Guinness... More

My husband and I had some time to kill on Sunday morning, looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. We were told that the food was good at the George Street Alehouse, so we tried it out. There is a sign when you walk in to seat yourself, so we did. It took 10 minutes for someone... More

First the good.. burger was very tasty, cooked as requested. My lady said the steak salad was very good. Now the negatives...The main one was the service. Our server was either overworked or incompetent. My burger was not the one I ordered. We clearly indicated a couple dietary restrictions - and still order was not as it should have been.... More

Quiet pub with good choice of draught beers. Genuinely nice servers. French Onion soup was very good.

Been here a few times for dinner. Typical bar experience in a college town but with excellent food. It can get loud if you're near the bar - so if you want a quiet dinner - this isn't the place to be. They offer an assortment of pizzas that are fantastic! Beer selection is great. They also have always asked... More

Tried to get in almost everywhere in town, which was very difficult because everyone was going to a Jackson Browne concert, as were we. The ale house took us very quicky when I suggested we sit at the same table as others who were waiting. We got a free pitcher of beer& separate checks. We both got cod fish &... More

WE went to the ale house by chance, walked by and saw a crowd and heard music from outside, walked into this gem and they were playing all the music i love. EDM electro and house, good turnout but the food and drinks were even better than the great atmosphere. Very sophisticated menu catering to a higher end crowd on... More
