Only did happy hour with a few appetizers, food was pretty good, service was decent considering we were a large group, beer selection was quite good, will go back for sure.

A person does not go to a bar to eat. This is a bar. They have umpteen televisions to watch sports and a well stocked bar - the food is bar food. I had the fried pickle appetizer and I have to admit it was the worst fried pickle appetizer I can remember ever eating. I asked the bartender what... More

Great beer selection. Tavern atmosphere. Fried pickles on the menu. You will like everything you order. A bit short on seating. A little loud - but that's a tavern - a fun place. Waitstaff does a very good job.

I'll save the lengthy descripiton here, and resort to a bullet list: 1. Extensive beer list 2. Great food 3. Great brunch options (especially after the Rutgers Half Marathon)

My wife, daughter and I stopped in at the George Street Ale House for dinner yesterday and were pleased with some good food and a very pleasant server, and a reasonable price for the food. The meal was tasty, though not authentic, Mexican (nachos & tacos) and the choice of beer and mixed drinks was good. The meal made for... More

Had an appointment in New Brunswick so we thought we would stop somewhere nearby for lunch. I checked the web for a place,LOOKED good so we took a chance. When we walked in the place had an odor like dirty mops, and it was dark and dingy. The waitress was lovely and attentive. I ordered onion soup and a wrap.... More

Had dinner with friends at George St Alehouse recently. Was seated downstairs which is devoid of atmosphere. Service was friendly and good. Food was average. Those who ordered ale/beer enjoyed it. There are more interesting, better and comparably priced restaurants in New Brunswick

We went here before a Rutgers game with a Groupon. Food was good, our waitress was on the ball, and it was a nice atmosphere. We would definitely return.

New Brunswick has many outstanding restaurants that deliver fabulous food over a wide range of cuisines and prices. However, when you hanker for simple fare at a reasonable price, the George Street Ale House certainly delivers. . We made our first visit with another couple prior to a play at the George Street Playhouse. Two of us had the Guinness... More

My husband and I had some time to kill on Sunday morning, looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. We were told that the food was good at the George Street Alehouse, so we tried it out. There is a sign when you walk in to seat yourself, so we did. It took 10 minutes for someone... More
