Chef Michael White and the Altamarea Group are excited to invite you to Due Mari. Located in the heart of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Due Mari, meaning "two seas" in Italian, opened its doors in September 2008. Due Mari keeping true to its name, features the freshest seafood from around the world and Chef White's authentic Italian cuisine. Upon entering Due Mari, you are greeted by bright blue, aqua and cream tones. Our sleek, vibrant circular bar, located in the center of the restaurant, invites guests to linger with a cocktail or enjoy our full menu. Due Mari is a place to meet family, friends and new acquaintances in a convivial atmosphere.

In addition to the freshest Italian seafood, Due Mari's menu also features a wide selection of Chef White's signature handmade pastas and choice grilled meats. The broad range of cuisine, both inland and coastal, covers traditional and modern influences, allowing Chef Michael White and his culinary team an open canvas from which to draw on. Due Mari's seasonal and regional influences can be seen throughout each course of the menu with dishes like the Polipo: grilled octopus, pickled onion, celery, taggiasca olive. Or the Spada: local grilled swordfish, swiss chard, white bean, acqua pazza.

The wine list at Due Mari offers guests a varied selection from the major wine regions of Italy. The wines are selected to compliment the cuisine for a harmonious dining experience. Whether they are looking for a well-known treasure or small, boutique wineries, the list provides guests the opportunity to explore Italy's myriad of wine styles. The list also includes selections from France and the United States for guests wishing to enjoy great wines from regions outside Italy. The extensive wine list is complimented by world-renowned mixologist, Eben Freeman's irresistible cocktail and bar list.

Due Mari offers private and semi-private dining spaces for any type of event. From corporate functions to personal celebrations, luncheons, and cocktail parties, we're happy to customize all aspects of your event to create a memorable experience.

Simply just very nice Italian

A business dinner was quiet enough to talk (a big plus) and accompanied by tasty food. The preparations were good, but not exceptional (I would go back). The service was 'ok' -- attentive but the interruptions could have been fewer (i.e., let a guest finish a sentence by standing nearby rather than... read more

Our party of 4 each ordered the prix-fixe for lunch and were not disappointing. Our service experience was great. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and not at all overbearing. I started with the Rucola salad which was comprised of arugula, grapes, spiced pecans, ricotta salata and moscatel vinaigrette. One of the better salads I've had in a long time. I... More

I've eaten here a few times, most recently at the bar on a slow Monday night. Bartender had 2 parties and was to busy talking to offer good service. Food and wine were good, although somewhat overpriced. It's okay

Atmosphere is very nice, bar is big and plenty of seating. Food was very good, a bit overpriced. Bar tender wasnt very friendly and at first time making my cocktail, spilled it all over the bar and got some in my lap. Little apology and that was it. Overall, it was o.k. Not sure it will be my first choice... More

Had only eater here for dinner and thought it would be too "big" for a modern business lunch. I was wrong, lunch menu has two light/fast lunch options. Was able to eat and have complete the business conversations needed. Service was very good, which is difficult in NJ at lunch.

The food here was out of this world. I had the seafood risotto (the waitress immediately told me not to order it and said "nobody ever likes that. You shouldn't order that. It's really heavy and fishy".) my friend ordered the rib tips and raved about them all night. After all was said and done the risotto was exactly what... More

After thoroughly loving squid black ink pasta in Genoa, Italy, we searched for a NJ restaurant that featured it. We were so impressed with the entire experience at Due Mari. The menu was very different and it took awhile to decide all the courses. The service was impeccable. We will definitely return in the not too distant future!

Ate lunch here on a Saturday before heading to George Street Playhouse for a matinee. The sea bass was very good and came with a side salad. The pasta must be prepared in the restaurant as it was excellent. The burgers were large and tasty but not worth the money in my opinion. I would return for Dinner but not... More
