Catherine Lombardi - CL for short - is the place that I gravitate to for just about any occasion. When you walk in you are greeted by sounds of sinatra or Louis Armstrong, alternatingly soft and swinging, creating a lovely ambience for dinner or drinks. There are 2 fireplaces at either end of the dining room which add to the... More

My co-worker and I were looking for a place to get a drink and a bite. It was super windy and cold. We saw this place and had to try it. The wine list is a book, so be prepared. The service was great and as far as the food, we had the cheese plate and it was perfect.

The staff are very good and helpful and the menu interesting with fresh, home made dishes (e.g., home made pastas), and great sauces. The wine list is quite extensive, but expect to pay at least twice retail for any bottle you choose. Very good selection of wines from across the world.

Catherine Lombardi Restaurant is a surprising find on the second floor on a busy corner in New Brunswick, NJ. It turned out to be a classic Italian restaurant with very professional service from host to food runners. Eggplant parmesan, often an over-promised under-delivered specialty, was done perfectly. Similarly the salads, fried calamari and veal marsala were excellent. Service was very... More

A a large group of us ate there on a Saturday night. Bar is small, but has a very respectable spirits list, including things you rarely see elsewhere. Appetizers were wonderful and they have a pick 3-6-9 option which lets you taste a lot of different things. That was nice. Entrees were good sized, but I was disappointed in my... More

A group of us went to Catherine Lombardi after attending a play where I experienced some of the most delicious Italian food I have ever tasted. It was well worth the price. The ambience is perfect. Come early or be sure to make a reservation because it fills up very quickly. All my food selections tasted delectable. I started with... More

See my Stage Left review, paid a lot of money for an absolutely horrible experience. They are they same owners.

My husband and I stopped to watch the football game and have dinner and drinks in the bar. All was very good, great waitstaff and knowledgable bartender. Apps and dinners were as expected and we enjoyed. Made a reservation for Valentines Day while we were there.

Was there with a group of 15. They were very good about accommodating our added unanticipated latecomers. Excellent on all fronts, service, selection, wines, presentation. A very good location if you are staying at the Heldrich.

The food is good, great antipasto plates, entrees less impressive, but the ambiance and great service bring us back
