"The atmosphere of Fascino, with its minimalist cream and deep red decor, borders on stark but not casual. The complexity's in the entrees, where flavors, scents and textures fuse seamlessly. Puree of kobacha squash soup with oregano crema and hazelnut oil wins the intriguing appetizer award, and the paper-thin sheets of beef carpaccio with truffle oil and petite salad are a beef purist's dream. Pastas, risottos and raviolis are all available as appetizers or main courses, but the duck breast with confit cannelloni and black fig compote or pine nut-crusted codfish might be hard to pass up." -- Mike Hess, AOL Digital City

I was visiting northern New Jersey and decided with several people to try Fascino, an upscale but very inviting Italian restaurant with a high Zagat rating that was recently ranked among New Jersey's 25 best. It was not all I had hoped it would be, though my guests fared better than I did -- at least with the food. I... More

A block east of the Lackawanna train station, this restaurant does not look like much from the outside. However, it is well appointed inside. The service was excellent. Our waiter "Tony" was extremely attentive. Our appetizers of octopus and truffle infused potato puffs were delicious. We had braised spare ribs and stuffed ravioli which were outstanding. Our dessert was a... More

Went back to Fascino after about 5 years. Last visit the food was not that good and the service was worse. Friend had recently been there and told us to try again. We were glad we did. My wife had the Bronzino and I had the Pork Chop. Both were prepared perfectly and the portions were more than enough. Service... More

The food here is excellent. However, the menu is quite limited. If you happen to pick the Seafood Risotto, you would get a tastey dish but one that would leave most people hungry. Service is good as is ambiance. For many people, thius would be a great restaurant. However, if you like generous portions, be careful about what you order.

Fascino is a small Italian restaurant and deserves much recognition as one of the best places to eat in Nj. My husband, son and I went there for an early dinner. When we first arrived we were warmly welcomed and everyone from the coat check girl to our busboy and waiter gave us much attention. Our waiter, Walter, was very... More

This is one of those restaurants where the food was so good I ate every last bit and wouldn't normally have had room for dessert. But this was my birthday dinner and an unbelievably beautiful cake came out at the end of dinner with candles in it for me, so I had to try it. And I am so glad... More

Fascino is 5 Stars from the moment you walk in until the time you walk out. And when you walk out you'll know you will return. When entering you will be greeted warmly and asked if you can provide them your coat. The ambiance is better than I expected from Zagat ratings as it appears they have completed some renovations.... This is one of our favorite restaurants in Montclair. Upon arriving you are always greeted warmly by the host/hostess. Since we have been going to this restaurant for some time, they always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food is terrific and the menu has options for all palettes. One of the other reasons we like... More

We have made fascino a regular trip for years. It's or favorite restaurant in Montclair and not once have we had a bad dish or dining experience. We almost always get the tasting menu and have loved to see it change over the years and now is a right from the actual menu. First course tuna tartar was very good... More
