"The atmosphere of Fascino, with its minimalist cream and deep red decor, borders on stark but not casual. The complexity's in the entrees, where flavors, scents and textures fuse seamlessly. Puree of kobacha squash soup with oregano crema and hazelnut oil wins the intriguing appetizer award, and the paper-thin sheets of beef carpaccio with truffle oil and petite salad are a beef purist's dream. Pastas, risottos and raviolis are all available as appetizers or main courses, but the duck breast with confit cannelloni and black fig compote or pine nut-crusted codfish might be hard to pass up." -- Mike Hess, AOL Digital City

Overrated and overpriced

We had read good reviews of this place and decided to try it. We found the tables close together and the ambiance in general disappointing. While the food was good, it was not deserving of the prices. Service was just okay but I think our server might have been new. We will not be... read more

Outstanding in every way. Greeted like a valued customer even though it was our first time here. Professional and friendly wait staff, nice bar area, and fabulous food. The 5 course pretty fixe was a real value - mussels, mushroom soup to die for, mezzanine in a wonderful sauce, bronzini, and a dessert sampler, almost too much food but everything... More

There is nothing that was not perfect about this dinner. The service was charming and attentive without being intrusive. We chose the Vegetarian Tasting Menu, which was delightful and delicious. The salad selected was shaved zucchini and apple with gorgonzola--fresh and crisply appealing. One guest picked the orange braised baby carrots, mustard greens, & cauliflower puree and another the caramelized... More

Service was perfect and very accommodating. Small, intimate setting with excellently prepared food. We found they deliver wine if you forget to bring your own. My husband recommends the duck and I regiment the braised ribs, the entree, not the pasta.

Delicious food for a fair price! The cod and salmon were perfectly prepared and the mezzaluna was a great complement to main courses.

I was visiting northern New Jersey and decided with several people to try Fascino, an upscale but very inviting Italian restaurant with a high Zagat rating that was recently ranked among New Jersey's 25 best. It was not all I had hoped it would be, though my guests fared better than I did -- at least with the food. I... More

A block east of the Lackawanna train station, this restaurant does not look like much from the outside. However, it is well appointed inside. The service was excellent. Our waiter "Tony" was extremely attentive. Our appetizers of octopus and truffle infused potato puffs were delicious. We had braised spare ribs and stuffed ravioli which were outstanding. Our dessert was a... More

Went back to Fascino after about 5 years. Last visit the food was not that good and the service was worse. Friend had recently been there and told us to try again. We were glad we did. My wife had the Bronzino and I had the Pork Chop. Both were prepared perfectly and the portions were more than enough. Service... More
