Great food on the pricier side

This off the main strip charming Haitian restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The meals are plentiful and heavily seasoned, just the way we like it. The three course meal comes with soup and salad, both of nice quality. It does take a bit of time for the food to make it out of the kitchen... read more

This hidden gem is definitely worth the effort. We came out despite the weather and I'm so glad we did! General Note: I'm still getting used to bringing my own bottle of wine to restaurants. As a born and bred NYer, there's alcohol EVERYWHERE! I can adjust to change quite easily so it's no biggy. There's a choice of two... More

We have been going here for years. Always an adventure. Enjoy a night out that is different from what you are used to. I love the food and always a nice group of people. Try some homemade empanadas! Delicious. and, BYOB.

Off the main area of Montclair restaurants. Not a lot of skill in the waiter & buss boy. When he filled our water he filled it all the way to the rim. They assume that you are eating 3 course meal Soup, Salad, Entree. We felt like we were in a foreign country. The food! Wonderful (small) empanadas of many... More

I have been many time and felt that I wanted some fish " gros Sel" for unrefined sea salt last night. The atmosphere was convivial, as usual, especially when welcomed by the owner who is very warm and welcoming. He enticed us to try some raw conch that is a special Caribbean recipe and was spicy ( too much for... More

I have tried several items off the menu. I LOVE spicy food and am not shy about aking the chef to bring on the heat. Dining here is never a disappointment.

While I don't eat Haitian food often I'm certainly not new to it. The reality is you're paying for the atmosphere. The food is delicious, but overpriced. I've had great (maybe even better) Haitian food from "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants, which this certainly is not. And for that reason I want to say I'd eat there again, but for the price it's... This place was as cold as ice. The instant we walked in the door the hostess walked towards as if she wanted to attempt to escort us back out of the restaurant. So unwelcoming and such a cold thick tension in the air. My family and I all felt the same. She told us what tables were reserved right off... More

In term of Haitian restaurant and food, this is a classy little place in Montclair. The manager is Haitian and as Montclair, the clientele is mixed. Set up near Walnut station and in a very quiet and nice neighborhood, parking is not a problem. The owner/manager ever present is extremely welcoming and friendly. One of the great benefit of Montclair... More

I'm very surprised to see the high rating for this restaurant. Please let me set something straight. First of all, this restaurant is very expensive. We spent close to $100 for two people with no drinks and the tip. The food was not that good. The best thing on the menu was the Creole, but that was served in a... More
