We were lucky to get two seats at the bar because the place was swarming with patrons waiting to be seated. This was a Saturday evening. We planned to sit by the bar so that we could watch the football games. Bartenders were very attentive. House wines by the glass were not my cup of tea, but they allowed me... More

Although it is not that far from Route 130 and the NJ Turnpike, this restaurant is not close to any major thoroughfare. But people don't have any trouble finding it, as it is packed both times we were there. The octopus and greek sausage are two very good appetizers, and one of each will be enough for 4 to 6... More

An excellent family-run restaurant with genuine Greek food the octopus is outstanding. In the spring time for a special occasion they had a full goat on a rotisserie. They have a large selection of ouzo.

I don't eat beef so I can't comment on those dishes. However, there really isn't anything on the menu that isn't wonderful. Have eaten here countless times and can say, in all honesty, there isn't a better restaurant around.

My wife and I have eaten at Taverna Ouzo several times and had a variety of dishes. Very good and very Greek. Our friends who lived in Athens for three years say it's the best Greek food they've had in the states.

Went last week (end of November 2014) with 12 family members. Food was quite good, service solid. Had appetizers of octopus , calamari and flaming cheese...all was good. We all had various dinner. Everyone enjoyed (I had eggplant/ beef/ pasta....OUTSTANDING). Service was very good, except the timing of the service (2 meals came out a bit late vs. all others).... More

I ordered the baby lamb chops ($31). The plate had 3 rib lamb chops, a small salad, mint chutney and lemon potatoes. The lamb chops were very fatty and chewy and to think that these were actually recommended to me by the waitress. I am Greek and have had plenty of lamb in my years. The manager tried to convince... My wife and I just returned from the Taverna Ouzo and wanted to share our experience. We live on the other side of Monroe and have passed the restaurant many times, but this was our first visit. After reading the reviews, we called and were told that they did not take reservations for 2. It was suggested that we call... More

You will not be disappointed with the fresh menu and rich flavor. This is a hidden Gem of the area. I found this place by accident and have been frequenting regularly.
