This is a Hibachi or sushi restaurant. Hibachi seemed to be the majority of the business and what we came to enjoy. Our party of 4 enjoyed watching the chef prepare the food in front of us, standard Hibachi style, but the taste was what we all remarked about later. Filet Mignon and Scallops was my choice, Filet Mignon and... More

I have gone to this establishment at least 6 times over the past year. Frequently visiting the Ocean City / Somers Point area over the past few years, you begin to look for options beyond the packed tourists traps not far from the beach. I found Sakura almost by accident, while looking for a better movie theater than the Moorlyn... More

Both sushi & Habachi delicious Japanese cuisine is prepared by personable chefs. The interaction between diners & the chef puts a smile on everyone's face as the smells of fresh steak, seafood & veggies make mouths water. First soup & salad is served that tastes average, but room for " the best part" makes that not matter. The chef first... More

This place was recommended to my wife and I by a local waitress at a pizza place while we were in the area. It was pretty busy for early on a Thursday which was a good sign. They have many combinations including lobster, scallops, shrimp, chicken, different steaks, etc. The thing I very much enjoyed was the pace of things.... More

Being originally from this area it's been 6 years since coming back. I wanted to stay away from chain restaurants, however this place was cool. Food was excellent and the mixed drinks weren't bad either. The chef puts on a bit of a show and at the end will flip the food into willing patrons mouths. I had the scallops... More

We went just to have some sushi and soup. Food was good. Service just ok. We will go back. Beer was expensive so maybe we will not order next time. Just stick to the food which was very good.

We went last night with 3 other couples. One of the couples had never been to a place like this and were a little apprehensive. All of us were very happy with the food, chef, atmosphere and service. We sat with two brothers who were not in our group, and had a great time with them. We will be back... More

Everything was going great until I ate the extremely salty food. It was so salty I could not get enough water. My advice would be to tell them NO salt! I will not return because it was not worth the money and I hate salt.

Our family of 4 joined another family of 6 at the hibachi table and had so much fun. We ordered the steak with stir fried veggies and the volcano roll & spicy tuna roll with hot green tea. The rolls were expertly done and tasty though lacking in garnish. The pink ginger were in bits & pieces, seemingly not fresh... More

Whenever we have something special to celebrate, we drive 45-50 minutes to Mays Landing just to eat at Sakura. We have tried other Japanese steakhouses but no one is quite like Sakura...The quality and amount of food coupled with the hibachi show is second to none! We have never been disappointed at Sakura!
