Description: The Courier Post recently honored the Inn with three & a half stars...
The Courier Post recently honored the Inn with three & a half stars boasting, “Owner/chef Larry Boylan has put a kitchen full of thought into his waterside Inn at Sugar Hill.” That “thought” process has been ongoing for Boylan & his Inn for 22 years now, with no signs of letting up. “ I believe a good dining experience has the ability to not only nourish the body, but also nourish a persons’ soul… to be able to reach out & touch someone on that level is a high that gives me a lot of satisfaction & motivates me”, states Boylan. As an authentic Country Inn, the Inn at Sugar Hill has always strives to provide old world hospitality to both its’ dining & bed & breakfast guests. This philosophy has led to creating menus that reflect not only current culinary trends, but also respect the palates of those less adventurous. “Before I print a new menu I always look it over & say… what are my parents going to order & then… what are my teenage daughters going to like!

birthday dinner

excellent food and service. The porch is air conditioned with a beautiful view but very small and tight. Also very cold. Better off eating inside the dining room.

I ordered a Turkey & Cheese on Rye with LTM. Everyone was soooo friendly.I open the sandwich to eat it, my goodness I could'nt even hold oen half of the sandwich with one hand and my hands are HUGE. It had tons of turkey on it and the amount of cheese was perfect along with the LTM. I was stuffed... More

Hosted a group of people from a "Meetup.com" group. Our table was ready and we were seated even though we were waiting for a few more from our party to arrive, which was very nice. Beautiful view. We were seated inside in the parlour area, as it was a very hot day and hoped for air-conditioning, but the room was... More

Was excited to stop for a quick family dinner - but won't be back again. Asked to sit by the water - just me and my child (10). Was told I couldn't because it was just two of us. It was 5:30 and there were three empty tables. No one came to take our order. All of the wait-staff was... More

We were seated in the Sunset Lounge area and watched a lovely sunset over the lake while we ate. We enjoyed the live music. The meal was delicious. I love crab so I tried crab over chicken (Chicken Maryland), salad and veggies. We shared a scrumptious dessert. We both liked our meals very much, but portions are smaller than many... More

Arrived here for lunch on a snowy day, and decided to be seated at the enclosed deck table area for a full view of the snow falling and also watch the geese graze. We chose from the Restaurant Week menu, Soup, Entree, and Dessert. The Crab Soup was good, but the French Onion Soup had minimal cheese. The entree we... More

We dinned at The Inn at Sugar Hill for Valentines Day and were very pleased with our meals and Michael the waiter. The food was very good and the service was excellent for what we knew would be a crowded night.

I agree with another reviewer who said the ambience was the most redeeming quality. For starters, when asked if you like your Bloody Mary spicy, and you reply "not overly so", there should be something in between spicy and plain, watery tomato juice with virtually no flavor at all. Second, the crab bisque that's been "a favorite for 26 years"... More

The Inn at Sugar Hill is the perfect place for a special evening out. The view of the water is very nice in the porch dining room. The inside dining rooms offer authentic Victorian decor, complete with fireplaces. While the restaurant environment is very nice, the food is just average. The soups have consistently been good, though. I was particularly... More

This is a restaurant built from an old waterfront house. There have been many alternations. Many seating areas feel like your in a cave and can't move. The food is well prepared but is highly priced.
