I've eaten here a dozen times -- the restaurant is near the New York-New Jersey Headquarters where I volunteer -- and the food has always been at least good, sometimes splendid. Service has been unfailingly polite and attentive. The décor is a bit rough and ready, but there are some interesting items. It is very good for meetings -- there... More

I have never done a negative review before, I usually prefer to say nothing at all and leave it to everyone else to have their own opinion - but this was exceptionally bad. The waiter seemed annoyed to even be there - the coffee arrived and two of them smelled like they had mixed the carafes with the regular coffee... More

Asking for something as simple as water should never be a hassle, Michael, so we're very sorry and embarrassed to hear about your experience with us. We train all of our servers to be attentive to the needs of our customers and ask questions to make sure things are okay. However, it sounds like that didn't happen, and we're very... More

I travel quite a bit and after a long day on the road, The Mason Jar is a very comfortable causal stop for good food, a friendly face and a cold beverage. The menu goes from apps to entree's. The sandwiches are meaty and fresh. The Mason Jar is very convenient to the Fairfield Inn on Ramapo Valley Road. Worth... More

The Mason Jar was one of the worst restaurants we have been to. The service was awful, the food was bland and greasy, and it was overpriced. To top it off, two people who ate with us had an upset stomach the next day. I wouldn't go back here if they paid me! Avoid this place at all costs!!

Diana, it's concerning to read this review, because we take extra care when it comes to hygiene and food prep. We're so sorry to hear about your friends, but this isn't typical of us, and we're happy to follow up if you'd like to give us a call. Still, your food and service should always be on point. While it's... More

Casual place for a quick bite. Pulled pork is a favorite. Can be noisy and sometimes there is a wait.

Staying so close to this restaurant and lounge, it was a natural. With little expectations, I found a pleasant place, good people and service and good food at a very reasonable price. Good selection of everything.
