Good pots!

The food at this restaurant seems to be consistent only if you order the higher-priced steam pots. They are full of seafood goodies, plus corn and hush puppies, and are generally around $25. The seafood pots are delicious and we always get them because they are well seasoned. Pricey but good. The location of this restaurant is just weird and we always seem to miss the turn and getting back is not simple. The service could certainly be better because they take too long to come out to you and then back out... More

It's hard to review this place because although I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food is very ordinary. It's the best on the beach location in Jacksonville. It's popular. It's active and loud-- the inside crowd seem older than those on the patio. The food is less than what I might expect from Captain D's. I've eaten here twice and both... More

I really like the concept and food options, but it doesn't come close to other restaurants in the area. And, with the treacherous location (hard to get car out onto Route 1) why bother?

We went to Joe's Crab Shack while we were out of town thinking it would be fun and yummy like the other ones we've enjoyed while traveling. There were only 3 cars in the parking lot and only 1 other couple in the restaurant at 3:00 pm. The food was good but the service was lacking both hospitality and personality.... More

Ate here with friends on a Saturday night - ordered the lobsters and they were very good. Beer was good as well and the appetizers. Problem was the service - maybe they were short staffed but I don't think it's too much to ask for a plate! Our appetizer took so long to serve that they took it off the... More

We travel to Lawrenceville to see a surgeon about every 3-6 months. On our first visit, my daughter wanted to try Joe's. At first, we loved it. The food is very good, and the service is excellent. Second visit, still very good food and excellent service, but we started to notice that the place could use a good scrubbing. There... More

They have a large selection of seafood and they cook it properly. Food tasted fresh and of good quality. There is nothing Unique about it, but for the price - its very good! Will go back

One of my favs for seafood and sides. Sometimes I may need to send back an order because the food is not hot when sitting around for other orders at my table. I also let them know if my crab legs are smaller than the sixpence/weight I ordered, Overall, when they get it right, I really enjoy my meals. Cons:... More

My daughter and I stopped by for a bite to eat before heading out to an event near by. It was happy hour which lasted until 7 pm. It was busy but not crowded and we found seats at the bar right away. The $5 hurricane drinks were tasty and not watered down. Happy hour fried calamari $5 was crispy... More
