Situated in a historic building just off Bridge Street in Lambertville, this BYO restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine. The top floor offers a Hibachi Chef and tableside preparation.

Best sushi around! Lots of choices, nice staff and great service. Take out is fantastic as well! Be sure to ask about their specials.

Ota-Ya is a mainstay in Lambertville offering very good Japanese food at reasonable prices. There are two options: the sushi bar (a full-service restaurant and menu, with extensive fresh sushi selections) and a hibachi upstairs. I prefer the downstairs and the menu selections, especially the bento boxes, which allow you a taste of many different things. I got the veggie... More

Ota-Ya has a great location, right in the heart of town. Still, it's in the first floor of an old house, doesn't look...fabulous. But first impressions are deceiving, and whether you're a sushi fanatic or a tentative Asian seafood fan, you'll feel well cared for.

Peter is an awesome sushi chef. Very consistent, very professional. We go here just for him (and for his wife, who is a charming server, as are most of the other servers when you get to know them). We only wish the place could be updated a little. If it were a little more appealing from the outside, more people... More

We own the Pineapple Hill Inn B&B in New Hope and we send people here all the time and always receive great reviews from them...it is one of our favorite places....you can't beat the sushi. Décor is limited, but the food is fabulous. It is so fresh and prepared perfectly in an open area sushi kitchen. We highly recommend this... More

We went to this restaurant and from the time the food was ordered I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant -- rush, rush, rush. Immediately upon paying our bill -- I was still finishing a half of glass of wine --- the waitress asked if we could leave because people were waiting for our table. Then the... More

Ota-Ya is a real asset to our area, with fresh ingredients carefully prepared, and delightful service. The room is tired, and could really use a refresh, but otherwise there is little to criticize about this fairly priced BYOB.

Let me start with the positive: The sushi was high-quality (mostly, except for the unacceptable number of bones I found in my salmon sashimi), the rice was very good, and the selection was what one would expect from a Japanese/sushi restaurant. Now for the rest: Our server was, at best, effective. She seemed surly and preoccupied. She wasn't the only... More

Came in with a large group and they seemed unprepared. Food was fair, service was spotty. Only Japanese restaurant in town.
