This is very nice neighborhood restaurant in the Paulus Hook senction of Jersey City. One of Jersey City's nicest neighborhoods--just behind Hamiton Park (my favorite). The menu offers a wide selection of great dishes from meat to fish to an awesome pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage. I like the building and the decor. It reminds of a place that's... More

We have dined here on two special occasions with family, both times with large parties. On both occasions, the food was excellent and the service was friendly without being overly gushy, and still keeping it's east-coast edge. If your party is large, call well ahead because the restaurant is really more for 2s and 4s. For very large parties, like... More

Party of 4 on a Tuesday evening. Nice welcome and a table overlooking the place. Perhaps a bit to chilly but ok that's America. Good attentive staff and we ordered a couple of starters and main courses. Onion soup best ever and the pulpo as well . Mains pork chop, very good taste and this is a winner as well... More

Light Horse has a laid back yet upsclae vib. There's a great fireplace for the cold winter nights and outdoor seating when warmer weather arrives. Food is classified as modern American - I just classify it under great. All their ingredients are fresh, local and seasonal. The fish is excellent; try the raw oysters or clams in season, you wont... This restaurant was superb in several ways. The food was delicious as the chef blended flavors in a subtle way. The calamari was served on a bed of quinoa and a balsamic vinaigrette. The absolutely huge pork chop had been marinated in hard cider and was served on a bed of cheese grits and black eyed peas...so yummy. The prime rib... More

This is an old standby for us when we're not sure what to do for Sunday brunch. The main reasons we like it are the authentic feel and the vanilla croissant french toast. The lobster roll is also great and features large chunks of fresh lobster meat The restaurant offers outdoor seating in a charming neighborhood. Dinner is also good,... More

Went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place is beautiful. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. The wine list and cocktail list is extensive and has very nice choices. Staff was very attentive, The bacon wrapped meatloaf is to die for. I am already planning when I am going back and it will be really soon!!!!!

I was here recently for a business meal with a colleague and a client. The food was very good, if not memorable, but the service was mediocre. I am fairly tolerant of service, but our server was only intermittently attentive and did things such as reach across someone to get a menu. At the price, which was fine, I expect... More
