My husband picked this place from yelp. We showed up with no reservations, and we were impressed with the tavern like feel and atmosphere. The main room had high ceilings and was beautifully appointed. We were seated promptly, but in the back room - which while it was cute, the atmosphere was completely different and I felt a bit baited... More

I attended this restaurant/bar with a friend on a Saturday night, and it was full. We ended up sitting at the bar, at which we ended up eating. I had the fresh oysters and fish and chips, which were well presented and tasty. Although it is known as an 'high end' restaurant, the menu items were reasonably priced. This is... More

really nice bar dining area lots going on the food is pretty good and about the right price for what is offered, the dining area is quite noisy, we were there on a Wednesday night so at weekends I would guess it gets even louder, but it does create an atmosphere. overall very nice place with good food.

Stopped in this fun looking place to have a few drinks. We were seated at the bar and ten minutes later we were still waiting for one of the workers to acknowledge us. The bartender walked past us 5 times while waiting on others and never even spoke to us. There were 5 people sitting at the bar (including the... More

We have dined at LHT about 30 times in the last 4 years and it has earned it's place at the top of Jersey City restaurants. Charming interesting venue & menu, knowledgeable wait staff, and great food. The "go to" place for important dates, meetings and impressing the in-laws or your boss.

I ordered their "meatloaf" which came with a side of greens and mashed potatoes. Arrived on a long rectangular plate with the sides in a bowl and the meatloaf sitting in the middle. It looked kinda small, but boy was it filling ... delicious too. Great ambience and friendly staff.

Stumbled on this place and it's a gem. The ambiance is fantastic, bright, airy, lots of character. The food is excellent, but more sophisticated, so it may seem limited in scope. The drink selection is quite wide, and they have an incredible wine selection. Service is excellent without being pretentious. They have outdoor seating which is also quite nice.

The service was so-so, as was the food. The Tavern was authentic, and very charming. The place is a bit overrated.

I can't understand why this restaurant is so popular, the food is mostly okay and sometimes not good at all. My husband and I have come here a few times for brunch, as it's nice to sit outside in the Paulus Hook area for brunch. Unfortunately, the food does not match the views. I keep trying new things on the... More

This restaurant has a great ambiance and also delicious food. I would recommend the raw bar platter from the brunch menu and also the huevos rancheros. The classic Bloody Mary is also a great brunch drink.
