Good Butter Chicken and parathas

I generally get the dal and paneer tikka appetizer. It suits my appetite and taste. For some reason they keep running out of their lease agreements and have changed shops thrice in the past 5 years. The food hasnt changed and is still pretty good. I've heard complaints about their parathas, and would generally agree that they've lost consistency, but... More

I really wanted to like this place - the food was good but the kitchen was filthy, I wanted to hurl. I saw the kitchen while waiting in line for the bathroom and I wished I had never seen it. The kitchen is incredibly small so you can only imagine how bad it must be. ALSO, the waitstaff is great... More

Thanks for review. First of all, please accept our apologies with regard to the kitchen. As you rightly suggest, it is small, and it gets very busy. So depending on when you are visiting, and how busy we are, the kitchen may look like it's in shambles. It is cleaned periodically throughout the day. We will revisit this with the... More

I think it is worth a try once. I mean you should know what the food tastes like here. Malai kofta was ok. But everything else, well, it was just ok. Dal makhani was not what you expect. I suggest ask the server what the dish will be like, to make sure it aligns with your expectations.

Had a great experience eating here. The paneer tikka masala is mouth watering, as is the malai kofta. The parathas/ chapatis are also soft and lovely. This place definitely served some of the best punjabi food that i have eaten in the US. The service is quick and the waiters are also cheerful. The only downside was that the dal... More

I almost wanted to give this place 5 stars, but the parathas here are not quite as good as the ones I've had in Delhi, so maybe 4.5 stars? That being said, I've never been to a more authentic Punjabi place in the US. Husband loves the rajma, something you rarely see on menus in the US. Our favorite parathas... More

Recently went to this Indian restaurant in New Jersey. Had a very very good experience. We landed in JFK at around 1.30 in the morning and were famished. Hence on our way home in New Port, we decided to stop by. We ordered the food over the phone and by the time we reached and sat down, we had the... More

I would rate the food as OK. We were in the mood for some parathas and hence headed out for this one as this is supposed to be a Paratha special place. However was not so impressed by it and would say its just Okay. I have had way better Parathas. We tried 5 different types of parathas and none... More

There is an excellent choice of parathas well made and at reasonable prices. Railway curries are also good. Their chai (indian tea) is also pretty good. Seating space is fine. Parking is always an issue at Newark Avenue but sometimes off street parking is available here. There is an inexpensive parking lot in the area.
