Food was excellent and the was wait staff were very attentive to our needs but not overbearing. On my visit a bit loud due to a large party in next room but we still enjoyed our meal.

Fire & Oak is convenient as it is one of the few nice restaurants around the PATH. I found the portions large, the service good and the prices not ridiculous. They are also very accustomed to diners eating alone which is nice.

Good food, well presented. Great bread, but you have to ask for it. Gets kind of noisy due to the contained space. Wood and candles create a warm setting.

Sometimes the front desk staff and wait staff are friendly and service is prompt, sometime it is not. It really does not depend on how crowded the restaurant is. The menu is great, but the food is average considering its price. It is certainly convenient if you are staying at the Westin, but you probably won't go back twice.

Very convenient if you are staying in the Westin. Food was great, not a great selection of beers though. Couldn't fault the rotisserie chicken and sweet potato fries.

Good portion size. Not overpriced even though its in a hotel. Has decent options for veg folks too. Ambiance is good.

Ambience was fun. Food was tasty but expensive. The seafood platter had 2 shrimp cut in half, waitress said 6 full shrimp were included.

In Jersey City, if you're staying at The Westin, Doubletree or Courtyard, you'll end up here. But, it's not your average hotel fare. My favorite are the truffle fries. I could eat my weight! We got an array of apps....2 orders of the samplers was too much for 12 people. I had the salmon and shrimp entree. LOVED it! Everyone... More

We went for dinner on Friday evening and the bar had a good after work scene. As its located in a hotel in a business area there is a good mix of patrons ( tourists, locals, people working in the area). We enjoyed the food and the service was good with a friendly vibe. Will be joining them for dinner... More

Amongst a dozen or so restaurants near riverside (Newport) Jersey City, Fire and Oak is a decent option. The food is good as are the drinks. The service is average. The ambience is pretty good. However, the seating is crowded and you can't expect much privacy. The prices are on higher side, though not outrageous. I won't recommend this over... More
