Best View of NYC

The location is perfect for views of downtown Manhattan, and the cuisine is great as well. The restaurant has an excellent back area with stunning views of the City, a great garden and two gas fire pits to sit around on those chilly evenings. The food is also quite good and varies by season. I... read more

Before this, I lived in Chicago and on occasions that pulled me out of the house where I can't cook my own, we would find ourselves at Chicago Chop House. It's a very famous place and also around $100 per plate. I have friends that swear by Morton's but, after trying a few places, I was a Chicago Chop house... More

Liberty House Restaurant is one of those places termed as a "special occasion place" by many. It is romantic, elegant, the food is incredible, and the views are spectacular. I would recommend coming here during the summer when the terrace is open for dining, and you can then walk down a few steps for an after dinner stroll among the... More

You will have the most wonderful views of the city, as though you could reach out and touch it! But the food was average sad to say.

We got a panini each, & neither of us could finish it!! A great little "family" style business with great home cooking, at a great price! The old style diner atmosphere & decor only add to a great dining experience. Probably a must see for foreign tourists............

Went here for a small birthday celebration. Crabcakes were excellent - better than Legal's according to my husband. I had a black sea bass special which was different and quite nice - in a blood orange reduction sauce. My husband had the duck which he said was delicious and perfectly prepared. Hangar steak looked perfect and tender - I didn't... More

Twelve of us came here for a holiday party. The service was attentive and the prices expensive but I think you have to know that going in. I would imagine when you can walk outside the views would have been even more spectacular. Two women in our group sent their meals back because they were too salty. It was very... More

Came here for last night dinner with family following our Christmas visit. Travelled by Liberty ferry and the views to Jersey City and back to NYC are nothing less than magnificent. The restaurant is very well presented. Staff were excellent. Food was very good but I guess not to everyone's liking as it is not for the fussy eater. Prices... More

Excellent food and a wonderful view of Manhattan. Expensive. Live music often. Excellent decor, service and wine list.

The LIberty House serves average food (like a rest stop on the Thruway) and charges Manhattan prices. You can find much better food at more reasonable prices nearly any other place in Jersey City.
