I have been to Prestos several times. I strongly recommend staying with the daily menu. The specials were not so special, but every time I stuck with the daily menu, I was more than satisfied. Very good sized portions.

Presto's has decent, traditional cuisine. Our meals were good, but nothing I could not have whipped up in my own kitchen. I did get the feeling there were a lot of regulars dining, which is always a good sign. Unfortunately, I was not wowed enough to go back again. Byob was nice and made for a very affordable night. I'd...

I have been dining at this local Italian eatery for over 15 years. The restaurant is small but quaint. The food is excellent- traditional old school italian fare. The service can be a little slow, but the food more than makes up for the delay. It is BYOB. So, come with family/friends and enjoy an authentic Italian meal.
Positives: Food is very good. BYO. Negatives: Service is slow. They don't take reservations (what's up with JC places not taking reservations), so prepare to wait. No inside place to wait, so bring your coat to stand outside for 30 to 40 minutes, dealing with smokers right outside the door.
This is an Italian Restaurant that is hit or miss. The first time we dined. I was craving spinach mushroom cannelloni with a good glass of chianti. I did not realize the restaurant is byob. The menu is set. They do not take special orders. So no spinach cannelloni or glass of chianti. The night we were there they did...

This a decent neighborhood restaurant that has all the ambiance of a dining room at a senior center. The small interior has no real sense of interior design--it's just tables tossed into a room with almost bare walls.
The food was good. To be honest, we dined here shortly after Hurricane Sandy, so I probably should give the food another...

We walked here from Liberty Harbor RV Park after a full day of sightseeing in NYC. The restaurant has the feel of a local neighborhood place. The food was great. We had the hot antipasto. It was very good: nice seafood variety and the red sauce was nice and thick. Spaghetti and Meatball and the Fetticino Alfredo were excellent. We...

We were in Jersey City last week for a conference and I was tasked with finding good Italian for our group. I jumped on Trip Advisor and up popped Prestos'. With a group of twelve I was worried whether they could handle us so I called and was told no problem. The instant we walked in the door we were...

This is our first stop with all of our guests! No one has ever had a bad meal!
We love Prestos. We love walking up the street and smelling the garlic before we walk in the door. We love the intimacy of the place. We love the friendly, old school, neighborhood feel. We love the amicable atmosphere of the staff and customers. We love the pasta - my personal favorite is the pasta with broccoli rate and sausage...
