Pleasant evening on Newark Avenue Promenade !

I've been here before & wouldn't hesitate to come here again. I have sat downstairs near the bar and outside in the Open Air Area. Service is fine. Food is tasty. Prices are not exorbitant. I hope you patronize this restaurant; they deserve to stay in business !

Thought it was just okay this time. Maybe it is what I ordered which was a seafood pasta that had crab, shrimp and scallops. The shrimp and scallops were very small and were not exceptionally fresh i don't believe. The service was great and the drinks were great, but food didn't quite live up to the last time. It is... Came here last minute to celebrate my mom's birthday. We were seated on the second floor. Very nice and charming local Jersey City restaurant. The food was pretty good too! Ordered the Caesar Salad, shared the Tequila Lime Steak and Garlic Shrimp Nachos. Also shared the Fried Calamari and Mac and Cheese. All was very good. My parents had the... More

Fun location, delicious food. I had the Cornish Hen which was absolutely delicious!! We also the fritters (my husband a big fan of fritters) and enjoyed every fried bite. Sit on the terrace or by the window and watch the street action while you drink wine and relax. Enjoy

Skinners has been around for a while now, owned by a family that goes way back in the business (former owners of Hamilton Park Ale House) and started the trend of great pubs on the now over congested Newark Avenue. The feel is old pub style with great food that is not old in flavor. The downstairs bar area does... More

Skinner's Loft is a JC staple spot. The atmosphere is great, staff is always enthusiastic, and the quality of the food is reliable, and above average. They have a very nice beer and wine selection, and a good variety of american cuisine. Their Mac and Cheese is great, as is their Filet.

I came here last weekend for a small surprise bridal brunch. The ambiance and service were perfect. We were promptly seated indoors on the second floor and the waitress came by immediately with menus and drink orders. She came around repeatedly to see how everything was and filled water glasses frequently. The decor was quaint and they had these beautiful... More

great menu and cozy spaces. there are 3 floors for dining if u count the lovely rooftop. nice size bar on the ground floor and while the draft selection is limited in the porters and stouts, they have a good Guinness pour. food variety is good and portions r generous. very friendly staff and great brunch too!
