Always a Pleasure

One of our favorite restaurants, that we just don't get to enough. Always a good meal, no matter what time of day, and a very pleasant atmosphere. I wish the bar was a bit bigger, as it gets crowded easily, but the restaurant is cozy and comfortable.

The space is beautiful, with old charm & high ceilings. The lighting is romantic & perfect for a date. The menu has many seasonal items & the specials are unique & creative. The server was pleasant enough & our meals were good but definitely a bit over priced.

I've been to Skinner's Loft twice. Nice, small place, but yet you can sit comfortably. Food is great. Not only they taste good, you can tell the chef put in time to plan each dish to make sure they looks good as well. Despite the place is small, they go extra mile to make the little patron(kids) feel special as... More

You climb many stairs to get to the "loft" but they are worth it. An old building with much character and an eclectic menu with many tasty entrees.

Had brunch on Sunday in the second floor dining room. Love the ambiance and comfortable vibe in this restaurant. We timed it right and were seated right away. The muffins were great and so were our entrees. I look forward to going back.

All I can say is "wow" when I think of Skinner's Loft. From the grand staircase that takes you to your second floor table (there is a bar on the first floor too), to the brief postsers of historic significance of what actually went down in this place in the 1800s, Skinner's Loft does not disappoint! I opted for the... More

Solid dinner fare but the real gems were the seasonal beers that were amazing. Overall very nice dining experience in Jersey City.

The desire was that it was as good as the menu was pretentious.Nice and relaxed reception. But why such a pretentious menu where all the customers sitting at the bar and drink beer? A little sense of a chef who has been voted out of Masterchefs in the qualifying rounds. It turns out more of breakneck combinations than a solid craftsmanship.The... More

Spur of the moment we decided to have dinner in Jersey City but could not get a reservation. We decided to go anyway and take a chance of being able to get seats at the bar. Great decision! We sat at the bar and ordered drinks, possibly the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. We ordered from the small plates... More

This typical bar is not so typical after you realize it has 3 levels, including a rooftop garden. Awesome sliders, great brunch. Good selection of beers on tap, very attentive service. Will return try try more.
