The Madison Bar and Grill is filled with an ambiance and class that is usually reserved for Manhattan eateries. The décor works an evocative, magical mood, with bare wood floors, wainscoted walls, soft lighting and subtle touches from a bygone era. Patrons can also enjoy The Madison’s eclectic American Cuisine at the bar, or, from April-November, outdoors in an al fresco cafe that wraps around the street corner. Great price for great food

I chose the 3 course meal for less than $20. Salad and dessert was great! More vegetarian options would have been nice. The dining room was much nicer than the bar area. The waiter was very nice and helpful.

Took the family for dinner on a Friday night. Made a reservation but not necessary. Waited 5 minutes after we sat down and had to ask for a waiter. Then service improved dramatically. The portions are good sizes and the prices were reasonable. Our entrees were delicious and cooked exactly as we asked. We had the sirloin sliders, filet mignon,... More

Went out for drinks, then dinner, for my hubby's birthday. Bar tenders here were very friendly, and the drinks were tasty. They were experimenting with a new drink that they were contemplating adding to their menu, so they gave each of us a small sample to get our opinions. The vote was a unanimous yes! Dinner was good, although server... More

We had a table for five close to the entrance and to the jazz band. Would advise getting farther away from both to maximize conversation ease. The food and service were very good. As noted by others, the portions are large when ordering off the menu. The buffet price seemed high at $30, but the offerings included a drink (... More

Being from the UK, we're not used to the gargantuan portions of food you can get here in the States, so when your 16oz Ribeye, accompanied with truffle butter and a whole basket of truffle fries with a HUGE steak knife, it's exciting. The food was lovely and the steak cooked exactly how we wanted it. Just the size though,... More

We ate brunch and dinner at The Madison on a recent trip to Hoboken. On both occasions we shared entrees which were very generous, nicely plated, and good eating. The Heirloom Melon salad and the Teriyaki Salmon were our dinner choices and for brunch I would recommend the omelette. The wait staff was efficienct and pleasant and the food came... More

We just moved to Hoboken and had our first lunch here. The absolute worse chicken Ceasar Salad I've every had!!! How do you mess up the salad? Not talking about the dressing which wasn't good, the chicken was all fat! Really? I kept spitting out the pieces, UCH!!! So I ordered sweet potato fries hoping to get some pleasure out... More

I stopped in at the Madison following an afternoon walk with a dear friend. The beer was cold, had good choices both domestic and imported. The bartender was conversant, helpful and a good listener. The surroundings were good: near the ferry, the bus route; with a fine interior with ornate ceilings. This was a good stop.

We ate there on a Monday night when they offered the Three Course Meal Special for only $18.00. To boot, they also offered a bottle of Malbac for $15,00. The pork tenderloin and the seafood ravioli were "to die for", It was bracketed with a nice salad and a fantastic dessert. We can't wait to return on our next visit... More
