Brunch and fall

Great food. Great Drinks! The Chef, Maricel Presilla, is no joke. Look her up. It's not cheap, but it is good. Personally, I like to go in there and get several small plates. They are all good, and it's a good way to sample more of the food. And get a Mojito.

The mojitos are outstanding and so are the short ribs of beef. I had the duck breast and that was a bit fatty. Nice atmosphere in a store front local restaurant.

We were recommended to go here by a local Hoboken resident (one of four restaurants that she suggested). We were very lucky to get a last minute reservation on a Sunday - they were very busy. The service was very good - nice cheerful staff as well. The food was excellent with just the right level of spice for the... More

Ms. Elani who seated us was rude and impolite! I don't understand how someone can be so unhappy who is supposed to be a hostess. It took everything in me to not leave as soon as I arrived. My friend who has never eaten here before, called all day to make a reservations for 6p.m. last night. No answer; so... More

I had read several reviews of Cucharamama and most enjoyed the food, but complained of terrible service. Well we throughly enjoyed the food and while the service was somewhat slow, our server was very friendly and helpful. Based on what I had read, the service exceeded my expectations and the food easily met them. We were a large party (8... More

We enjoyed the food. Great flavor. But the service can certainly be better. Long wait for drinks. Once you get your food no one comes back to see if you need anything or want another drink. They don't seem to smile much. It a cute romantic setting. Wait staff can step it up!

The food at Cucharamama is not what most N. Americans, who are used to Mexican food, have come to expect. This is authentic and relies on a different palate of spices and more subtle flavors. Every chef/ restaurant is different but this food was similar to what I have eaten in Peru, Ecudaor, Costa Rica.

Cucharamama can take on any competition when it comes to authentic South American cuisine. The wood oven pizza adds an additional range of flavorful dishes. In the top 5 restaurants in Hoboken.
