Classy place

Food here is pretty good... Could be better for the price. I like coming here to escape the normal crazy crowd of hoboken. Its nice to come here for their happy hours for the cheaper wines and beers. Cocktails are expensive here though. Fun place overall.

I liked it. Had brunch upstairs. Beautiful place, delicious food. friendly servers. Mimosas were good - wish it had a stronger champagne taste but it was fine. I would def come again - lovely experience

I've eaten at Brass Rail a hand-full of times and never have been disappointed. It's a nice environment where you won't feel rushed and can enjoy your meal and some drinks.

The Brass Rail has been around for 100 years and in the past the food and service seem to have stayed there~but I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised on a recent visit because the food was cutting edge fresh, out of the box modern and reasonably affordable. I was in Hoboken on business and had not been there... More

Actually I think they can do better too. The food is not bad and neither is the service, it is all just sort of dull and passionless. There seemed to be little pride or purpose to the place. It all adds up to just another sort of generic restaurant. It is also way to loud downstairs to have any shot... More

Went there for lunch and even though it was just the two of us, we decided to make reservations beforehand in case it got quite full. As it turned out, we were the only ones there. So I don't think you need to make reservations, at least on weekdays. Staff was attentive and food was of high standards. I enjoyed... More

We visited here one evening in July to meet up with friends who lived in the area. It was very simple and cozy. They had a simple bar menu with great appetizers & entrees we could share with one another. Fairly decent prices. Bartender and servers were attentive and respectful.

Decided on trying their Sunday price fixe lunch which offered nice choices. Great selection of beer on tap, too. I had salmon and my friend had a goat cheese omlett. We had outdoor seating that I always enjoy and our waitress was attentive but not too much. Look forward to going back. I highly recommend it.

Bartenders are very friendly and know how to make a cocktail! Delicious sazerac made to perfection. Food was good to. Very good calamari, delicious brussels sprouts and bacon pizza. Old time bar with that old time feeling!

The Brass Rail from the outside looks like any other American eatery with an outdoor space in an urban landscape. I love it when I'm wrong and I love it when I'm pleasantly surprised. While waiting for friends, I sat by the bar area. The service was friendly and came by often to check in on us. Once my friends... More
