Reliable meals with a discount for cash payment

My wife and I have eaten here occasionally for years, and have always found the food here tasty and inexpensive. Outside tables made it especially attractive for a recent early dinner, with some of the best people-watching around. The menu is very large, and with a lot of deep-fried options, which... read more

My wife and I have eaten here occasionally for years, and have always found the food here tasty and inexpensive. Outside tables made it especially attractive for a recent early dinner, with some of the best people-watching around. The menu is very large, and with a lot of deep-fried options, which we avoid. Looked like a promising place with all the good reviews. I ate before at Malaysian restaurants in DC and San Francisco and this one lags way behind them. Food felt as if it was cooked in a rush with pre-made sauces. Chicken has too much corn starch and meaty smell. Happens usually with reheated cooked chicken. Wish I enjoyed my... More

Fantastic food that will no doubt appeal to those who seek authenticity rather than food that is doctored for the American appeal. Lunch specials are available all-week long, giving food at Satay a tremendous bang for the buck. I would highly recommend trying out the Malaysian Fried Noodles, in addition to the Basil Fried Rice.

Always enjoy going to Satay in Hoboken. The food is great and the service is always very good. Everything is good with some very good entries.

They have not updated their prices on Trip Advisor despite being told that they're menu on trip advisor is 30-40% cheaper than what they charge you when the food arrives. Do not order based on the menu on trip advisor as you bill will be far higher. If it was an obscure website I would understand this but since they... More

Authentic Malaysian food. One should definitely try their excellent seafood soup. Their lunch specials are great. A full meal with rice. The shrimp with lobster sauce and Malaysian pork chops were delicious. Large portions. There is a waiting of 15 minutes after placing the order. A quiet little place.

I was at Carlo's just right next to this restaurant. Me and my family were so hungry, so we decided to just gave this place a shot. Ordered couple of food, like general tso's chicken, satay fried rice, etc...SURPRISINGLY THE FOOD IS REALLY GOOD YOU MIGHT BE IN SHOCK. Went home with a full belly and a happy mood.

Lunch was cheaper than McDonald's! And way healthier and much better tasting. This is the best Malaysian restaurant i have eaten at in NYC or DC - and those were more famous (expensive) sites. The spice was good but not over the top. The milk tea was the best I have tasted outside of Penang!

Satay inever disappoints. The food is always consistent and authentic. I have mostly done 'takeout' and it is always well packed and presented

This amazing Malaysian restaurant in Hoboken is in a very unassuming part of town. Next to the very famous Carlo's Bake chop. The owners are always in hand and they are superb in service and a friendly chat. The food is very good and real authentic. The Kari Ayam is the signature dish and you must have that. The Roti...
