Great Puerto Rican and Cuban Food

What looks like a dive houses many wonderful surprises in cuisine. Their pork dishes are so tasty, plaintanos fantabulous and all of their food is authentic. The only reason I gav eit 4 stars is because of its appearance. But it is very clean.

The food here is hands down delicious. I let a lot of my friends know about this small gem in Hoboken and is a must visit! Their prices are affordable and their dishes are simple and they are consistent in their service and their product. I'm extremely excited they opened a bigger site uptown in Hoboken and with what looks... More

Went with friends for Father's Day. They raved about the breakfast like it was the best breakfast on earth. I had the bacon and eggs on Cuban bread. I was very disappointed. It wasn't anything special. Then, I tasted my friend's stuffed French toast which was to die for! The coffee was the strong Cuban coffee which was just fair.... More

Great island food served quickly at lunch. I was pleased with everything we got at our table and would go there again to try some of the other luncheon features. Seating is tight but friendly!

La Isla is a small Cuban restaurant on Washington St. in downtown Hoboken. Great for breakfast or lunch - but it gets very busy.

It still surprises me when people tell me they've never been here. How is that?! Besides the fact that it is super tiny the food is awesome! Las croquetas are unbeatable. The sandwiches are great. The coffee is delicious. Great place to go for brunch, lunch and dinner. Sitting can be limiting due to the space but it's a must... More

Visited here for a late lunch with a colleague. I wasn't sure if we'd fit in as neither of us speak Spanish very well. Why did we worry? Everyone was very friendly and assisted us with any questions and recommendations. I had a lunch special which was a half a chicken, beans and rice. I figured, this will be in... More

From all the reviews you already know the food is excellent here. I never been to Cuba or ever ate original Cuban food but this place has a feel that is far from typical American feel. From servers to deco makes you feel like you are on vacation in Cuba. We had breakfast and everyone loved it. We tried to... More

Great Cuban Food. Friendly Staff. I would suggest the Cuban Sandwich and the Chicken with Rice was always amazing. The Empanada's were outstanding. We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversing with the wait staff.

I've lived in Hoboken for years and never really noticed this spot. It's unassuming from the outside and tiny but the food is unreal. Love the specials - amazing layers of flavor, good prices and BYOB. Must try the frozen key lime pie for dessert - unique and delicious. Service is always friendly and attentive.
