This is a great restaurant for brunch and breakfast in Hoboken. My absolute favorite dish is Omar’s Stuffed French Toast. We moved from Hoboken a number of years ago. However, when my husband asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday this year, I knew that I wanted to start off at La Isla. My husband and I... More

Hands down the best Cuban Spot in Hoboken! The other Cuban Rest's. in town down don't come close to this one! You know its good when there is a crowd waiting outside. Large groups extremely difficult to be seated. It's best if your party consists of 2-4 ppl max. (unless you don't mind sitting apart) MAKE SURE YOU WRITE YOUR... More

This tiny 'hole in the wall' Cuban is a real gem on the main Hoboken drag. Seating is either through an open bar or a wait list for tables, probably has 20 covers, but it is worth waiting. If 2 then defo go for seating at the bar. We had a couple of appetiziers which were delicious, but be careful... More

Santillos brick oven pizza is second to this place. Anything on the menu is lights out. Just when we thought NJ was cursed with bad roads and worse food we saw this on Food Network. Glad we made the drive to Hoboken for this place. Spectacular! Also in a nice neighborhood that's good for a Sunday stroll. The neighborhood is... More

Great food... Definitely the best French toast we've ever had. The eggs and chorizo was awesome and great portions for the price.

La Isla is our go to place for great cuban food. They have daily specials that are always delicious. We usually order out if we want to have La Isla as lunch time can be very crowded. It's a small place that looks more like a cafe/ diner so ambiance is not beautiful but you wil lnot be disappointed with... More

Easy to miss, a tiny hole-in-the-wall lunch counter with a few tables, La Isla is a hidden gem. Skip Carlo's bakery and walk across the street and up a block for some really good stuff. The Cuban food here is about as good as it gets. Lunch specials are great and reasonably priced. The El Cubano sandwich is fabulous. Ditto... More

Excellent food - huge portions. The place is tiny so you may have to wait, but they also do delivery which is recommended.

While La Isla's facade does nothing to entice newcomers, the food alone will make converts of the greatest doubters. Authentic cuban food at its finest, La Isla offers daily specials (that go quickly!) as well as the standard fare that you would expect. And while it looks like an outdated diner, the food is fresh and amazing. Its also extremely... More
