We have tries many items there and it's delicious wether it's a cake ,tart or even a cappuccino, their breads are freshly made too. Parking is an issue in general on Washington st but it's worth the hassle.

My husband and I took the advice of another tripadvisor reviewer and decided to have pastry, tea and coffee at the Old German Bakery instead of Carlos' Bakery. We were so glad we did! On a beautiful Sunday morning, we sat under the awning at an outside table. The cherry rhubarb cake and almond pastry were so delicious and fresh.... More

If you really want something sweet and don't want to wait over an hour or more for your turn at Carlo's Bakery, go to Old German Bakery. The pastries are delicous and the owner is a trip! Listen to whatever advice he gives you about how to eat his pastries. He takes great pride in what he makes and he... More

Decided to stop in here after passing by many many times to buy some pastries for my mother in law who lived in Germany for a few months. The owner was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! He gave us a run down of all the items that he had and spoke with us about our travels to Germany as well.... More

This place makes a good sandwich and has delicious pastries. The coffee was fresh and delicious. Service was great! The only downside is that there is not many places to sit, so it is mostly take away.

Stopped by after exploring Hoboken. Delicious bakery items! Will stop here again if ever in Hoboken. Of course there is a famous bakery in town but you can avoid the long lines and enjoy the delicious German pastries at this bakery. You won't regret it.

Happened to stop at this bakery while walking on Washington Street for a quick bite and a cup of coffee. The apple turnover was delicious and the coffee was made fresh having a smooth, bold taste. Don't pass by without trying something or taking it home. You will not be disappointed.
