This is a 'fisherman' looking place - old decor. Menu is limited and overpriced. Food was not worth the time or money. I would not recommend it. I suppose one is paying to sit and watch the water - I can't imagine any other reason to go.

Liked the scallops and the service. Enjoyed eating al fresco. Close to Sandy Hook. Wine not so good. Souvenir shop always fun. .

Bahrs has been around it seems forever. usually a long stay comes with a deterioration of what it once was. Not at Bahrs the food is very good, service is also. You can tell the wait staff has been trained and is disciplined. The waterfront location is delightful. Parking can be an issue but not such to discourage you. The... More

Bahrs has been here for years, and there is a reason why. It is a fine place for a nice dinner and drinks overlooking the inlet. Had an enjoyable meal here on many occasions and highly recommend this establishment if you are in the Highlands area.

Bet seafood in the area, just a little pricey. Great for business luncheons and dinner with a view of Sandy Hook bay. For a quick bite, the walk-up stand has great chowder and fish and chips, for a little less cash.

First I would like to mention the SEA VIEW, spectacular sitting on the deck viewing the boats and water while eating your choice of their many menu choices of fish, shrimp and crab legs. I had the seafood marinara which consisted of shrimp clams mussels scallops. Also had the crab cake appetizer which complimented the main meal. Absolutely not to be... More

Who would expect the shrimp to smell fishy and the crab cakes to take awful at this beautiful waterfront restaurant that has been operating for such a long time? Well it was! This had to be one of the worst dinners I have had in years. I was so embarrased, because I was entertaining my friends. Also, the prices were... More

Bahr's has been operating on the waterfront in Highlands for almost 100 years. The seafood menu is extensive with many locally caught specials. The food and service are very good. The restaurant is large - with an outside bar and dinner seating as well as indoor dining rooms and lounge. It gets busy on weekends in season.

The food was not worth the prices. We ordered surf & turf, the filet mignon was so overcooked and tough, the side dish potatoes were undercooked. Horrible experience.

Perfect spot on the water. Service was very attentive. The corn and crab chowder was yummy. The lobster roll was good. Beer choices were excellent. For a nice meal overlooking the water you can't go wrong here.
