Wonderful service, great food, beautiful scenery.

Don't let this French restaurant scare you away if you are not a fan of French cuisine. There are burgers and fries on the menu too! I would recommend not bringing young children, as it is a little pricey but well worth it for a special meal. We were here for lunch and then walked off our... read more

My husband and I have been here eight or nine times before. It has been one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and we usually enjoy the tasting menu with wine pairings. It appears that they may have done away with the tasting menu, but added a line to the menu indicating that the chef will be happy to... More

Two of us had the onion soup and another had the been soup. All three of us enjoyed our soup. One had a burgef and fries, another had an egg dish and I had PEI mussels in a sauce to die for. It was a saffron base with some leek, potato, and carrots. It was so outstanding that I asked... More

We happened to overhear someone talking about this restaurant while eating breakfast at our hotel. So we looked it up and made a reservation. overall, it was delightful. We had the Brandade (salt cod cakes) and Grilled Octopus Salad for appetizers. The cakes were good but not very flavorful. The grilled octopus salad was delicious and huge for an appetizer.... More

Everything I had was wonderful. My specialty drink was delicious! Not a big menus which is great! Locally grown vegetables and meat is organic. The desserts are wonderful also! We ate outside on the patio overlooking a wonderful pond! After or before you eat take a stroll through the wonderful sculpture garden!

Two joys - Visiting the Grounds for Sculpture AND Rat's together is such fun. Having visited both during the last 20 years, I am never disappointed. I also spent an anniversary evening at Rat's, because it is a special experience to dine there. The food is very good to great; the service is professional and friendly; the setting is truly... RAT’S RESTAURANT (FRENCH CUISINE) EATING IN A PARADISE GARDEN (NEW JERSEY’S’S HIDDEN BYWAYS I) Have you ever had lunch in an impressionistic painting? If you have not, there is a place that resembles Claude Monet’s town of Giverny in France, where you can step into the world created by his art. First time at Rat's. Service and food outstanding...and we are very critical. We did the tasting menu and with wine pairing which could not have been better. Each course was as delicious as the one before. A few wonderful surprises from the chef during the meal which were delightful. The waiter Dillon was very professional as were all the servers.... Went with friends for lunch this past Saturday. Lunch for 4 was $138 plus tip. If you are a member don't forget that you receive a 10% discount in the restaurants too! Started with a bowl of onion soup which had that deep, complex beef and onion flavor and loaded with onions! The Gruyere cheese over the top was just... More
