Good . . . needs a bit of tweaking. Would return.

After many years' absence, we returned here for dinner last week. It was a Friday night, and the place was packed. We were greeted and seated promptly by a friendly waiter. The service throughout could not have been more welcoming, attentive, friendly and polite. Our food was good --- but either... read more

The Iron Bound section of Newark is the place to go for Spanish/Portuguese food. We had heard that Malaga was right up there . The service was very friendly and prompt. The main waiter, host seemed to do it all. He guided you to a table, mentioned the specials, took the order but often had to stop mid sentence to... More

It was 5:30 on a Saturday night and the place was packed. This restaurant has maintained consistency for service and food over the past 30 or more years I have occasionally dined here. They give you a big bowl of freshly made warm bread immediately and asked us if we wanted more when we got our entrees. Water glasses are... More

If you go be sure to ask to be seated in the restaurant room on the left as you walk in. The right side room had two large parties going on and aside from close seating there are no sound buffers. The food was good not exceptional. The mariscada was tasty but by no means a huge portion. We asked... More

Malaga is a true Spanish restaurant, not Mexican food. The Paella is incredible! On the first Wednesday of the month there are Flamenco dancers to delight diners.

After watching a Tyler Perry play a the Kimmel Center, my brother, sister, sis n law and I decided to wind down with a post show meal at Malaga's. Being a Saturday evening, it was busy and we had a 25 minute wait before we were seated. There is a nice bar area to while away the time, and we... More

Dinner for six on a Saturday night. Always great food and a fun time .The wait staff goes above and beyond, serving portions are generous, and get the Sangria among the best.

Excellent food, friendly service, large portions, terrific paella. I had not been to Malaga for a number of years before going back there this past weekend. I was happy to see that the restaurant was still wonderful.
