Authentic Food

The fish and chips were the best I've had in the states. The sausage roll was great. They make their own sausage which was a pleasant surprise. They also make their own absolutely well flavored grainy mustard. I had the coronation salad that was supposed to have a curry mayonnaise though I couldn't... read more

The food was ridiculously exceptional! The Devil on horseback is a must! The atmosphere, as well as the customer service will have our family returning.

I live in Haddonfield and eat here fairly frequently - it is by far my family's favorite restaurant in town. The food is great, and while British, there is quite a lot of variety, including healthy options. It is BYOB but has a casual pub feel. Their brunch is great, and they have gluten free bread options, which is just... More

My husband is Scottish so I'm always on the hunt for an authentic British restaurant and found The British Chip Shop during an internet search. It's only a 45 minute drive so I surprised him one afternoon with a trip to Haddonfield. The restaurant is clean and modern, and the tables are nicely spaced making it very comfortable and homey.... This is not our fist time here and won't be our last!!! We always get fish n chips because they are the closest to the real deal! This time I had cottage pie n HS salad. My husband had the burger n chips. He said it was the best burger he has ever had,my cottage pie was excellent.

$15.00 for the Irish Stew...half a bowl of Irish Stew. Great taste, perfectly cooked potatoes, carrots and ONE cube of beef. Seriously, I'm not kidding. $2.50 for a glass of iced tea. I'm sure it included a refill, but after the server dropped off the food, we never saw him again to ask. $15.00 for the Cottage Pie which was... More

The mac and cheese was a little too light on the cheese and wasn't really good. However, the fish and chips was light, flaky and delicious... exactly what we were hoping for. A 4oz serving is huge, and neither of us were able to finish it. We would definitely return next time we were in the mood for fish &... More

I went with my coworkers for lunch and we had a decent meal. I had the 8oz fish and chips and was surprised to see how much that actually was in food. Two large pieces of fish and a healthy serving of their chips (fries). Sadly the fish batter was overly soaked in oil so I can't give 5 stars... More

I bought an Amazon local deal thinking it would be a nice way to try the restaurant. When we first arrived there were only 3-4 other tables. The waiter took our order and within a few minutes returned asking me if I wanted to wait 20 minutes for the potato leek soup. I declined and tried the bean dip instead... More

We went here for lunch one day after just walking by. The fish and chips were good and the burger was decent. It's a pretty neat place but not sure I'll be back anytime soon.
