a touch of class!

Metropolitan Café is situated right on Main Street Downtown Freehold. Having a liquor license in NJ is a challenge and the fact that you can enjoy sushi and a cocktail while sitting at the bar is an obvious advantage. I love this restaurant. Great fusion menu, and my favorite place locally for sushi. Order the fireball. It's not spicy at all. It's a great blend of flavors of crab meat, crab roe, spicy tuna, and lots of other goodies. Simple. No rice as I recall.

Went here with my sister-in-law for lunch. Prices were good, portions plentiful. She had the salad which was huge and I had the won ton soup. Very good, two huge dumplings, big shrimp, flavorful. Nicely decorated inside. Good service.

My boyfriend and I went here on a Monday night, finally nice weather so we ate outside. The hostess and waitress were friendly. We split the spicy girl roll for an app and both ordered the Surf & Turf Saltimbocca. The food really was amazing!! Absolutely nothing bad to write. We will definitely be back for happy hour too!

The Metropolitan was a great restaurant and bar but has become stale. The food is average but the drinks are still great.

We went here for martinis and enjoy the atmosphere and I must say that if you are looking for a nice lounge feel and a fabulous martini I would certainly recommend it. We love that they offer you the shaker and we never felt rushed even though we were sitting at the bar at a busy time. It's wonderful that... More

Right off the bat I have to say the highlight of our meal was our server Rick. This is a guy who knows how to make his diners feel special. We made a few substitutions to the menu that went over without a hitch. The lobster mac & cheese was full of real lobster meat and very flavorful. The sweet... More

The food was good and so was the service but definitely not worth the price they think they are a 5 star restaurant. For 2 people 180.00 is a little too expensive.

Had dinner last night with friends and everything was delicious. I had Chilean Sea Bass and others had Surf and Turf, Also shared Kale Caesar salad, and it came out split without even asking. Drinks were large and made well. My friend had the Gin, Cucumber and mint collins: Yum. Service was great too. Can't say how much I always... More

The Metropolitan Cafe is clearly the best upscale restaurant in the Freehold area. Both appetizers and main dishes can be traditional or unique. Who would have thought that a Kale Caesar Salad would be so good! Seafood, steaks chicken and specialty dishes are always cooked to perfection. Service is excellent. The bar is always filled with people. The restaurant has... More
