We dined at Solo for the first time Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were 3 couples who planned to spend an evening together. The service was attentive but not rushed. We shared salads, which were certainly big enough. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The night was capped off with a couple of shared desserts and cappuccinos. We will... More

Homemade pasta was excellent! Nice mix of northern/southern offerings. Friendly and attentive service. One of the best Italian restaurants in the Freehold area. They sell wine but you can bring your own. Saltimboca was wonderful.

I dined at Solo's many times in the past, but last night was the worst dining experience ever. We had reservations at 7 PM for 6. The Caesar salad was so bad they removed it from the bill. The food was Luke warm at best and tasteless. Service was terrible as we were served after half the restaurant that came... More

Yum! Good BYO place in downtown Freehold. We went out with 3 couples. It is a small dining room but a nice atmosphere. Our service was good and everyone had a good meal. If a group of people it could be a bit noisy. Glad that we could walk to another bar after dinner. Like Freehold for having many places... More

We have dined at Solo's many times and never went away disappointed. Tonight, all four of us found our meal to be less than satisfactory. Two of us ordered an octopus salad. The waiter delivered fried Calmari. When questioned, he informed us that they did not have any octopus salad on the menu. Do you think he might have mentioned... More

Solo Trattoria's menu is an admirable combination of authenticity and modernity. The pasta dishes are uniformly excellent. The five items on the "Cucina Classica" subsection of the pasta menu are are a highlight; the lasagna alla Emiliana, with its delicate layers of thin egg pasta interspersed with besciamella and ragu bolognese, is quite a revelation to anyone expecting the doughy,... We have been to this restaurant many times. Everything on the menu is great. The owner is friendly and makes a point to remember repeat customers. Try the Veal Milanese - it is crispy fried with the right mix of tomatoes, garlic, onions and arugula on top. Large enough to have another meal in leftovers! They serve the porterhouse on... More

Local Italian restaurant with decent food, served by a sometimes clumsy staff. They do a good business and the pasta, meats and such are plentiful but not memorable. Average at average prices. Coffee was rough. If you find a discount or cannot get into some other place, it's not a bad choice.

We recently dined here as a family group. Service was efficient and friendly as was the ambiance. Some entrees were better than others. Please do not order the veal. Pounding veal to tenderize and cook evenly is one thing. Pulverizing it so that it is like a piece of swiss cheese is out right murder. Steaming the meat only added... More

Six friends (ladies) had wonderful time, host was wonderful. BYOB keeps the price down. Excellent food. When asking our waiter what was on a "veggie pizza" and the response is "I am not sure" is not an acceptable answer. A bit more attentiveness to a larger table would have been more adequate. Delicious appy's and tip would have reflected same... More
