Description: Matt’s Red Rooster Grill is a contemporary American bistro paying homage to a wood fired grill that “brings out the best flavors” of traditional American cuisine, reinvented creatively. A CIA (Hyde Park) graduate, Chef Matt McPherson stays true to his local roots integrating the finest seasonal ingredients, sourced from local family farms & day boat fisherman into his unique dishes. The restored Victorian home provides a relaxed elegant atmosphere to catch up with friends, celebrate special occasions, enjoy a romantic dinner, or impress an important client. As Matt’s creations pamper your taste buds, the staff indulges you with rock star service, the perfect remedy for a long day or week. With two floors, downstairs feeds off the warmth & energy of a bustling open kitchen. Four seats at the Chef's counter let you feel the heat, as you watch Matt & his team from a perch over the grill. Upstairs is away from the bustle while the porch provides relaxed & refreshing outdoor dining.

This remains top on my list of Central NJ restaurants. The menu has a combination of popular favorites with seasonal specials featuring nuances using local produce. For example an appetizer combining prosciutto, fresh melon, jumbo lump crab in a honey mustard aioli blew me away. Main course of coffee-rubbed Ribeye was cooked perfectly, was tender and tasty. Usually don't but... More

Delicious dining - but a bit on the expensive side - so plan for that - BUT GO. Nice atmosphere - great room for parties upstairs. You will NEVER have a bad meal here and you should definitely try the bread pudding for dessert!!

I heard a lot about the restaurant and was really excited to go. Enjoyed the dinner, however, won't return due to the small portions and above average prices for the area.

Cute old building in downtown Flemington, nice touch with outside dining on a cozy covered porch. The staff is wonderful- courteous and efficient. Food generally very good but they use too much salt in most offerings and the prices are out of line -too high. We understand a high price for premier items such as lobster tails but, come on,... We dined recently on a Tuesday evening at Matt's restaurant. We were on business and decided to use Trip Advisor to choose a local restaurant. Matt's menu is very nice with several selections available including meat, chicken and fish. Many appetizers were offered at reasonable prices Overall our meals were excellent, only to be surpassed by the incredible waiter who... More

My friend took me to Matt's Red Rooster Grill for my birthday dinner and we had a superb meal. The appetizer (Lobster Roll) was FILLED with lobster and the sauce was delicious! The mahi mahi for dinner was perfectly grilled and the vegetables that were served on the dish were crisp and enjoyable. My friend enjoyed her salmon dinner very... More

I sat right next to the wood-fired grill watching the chef cook up everything from halibut to ribeye to calamari to pork tenderloin. Unfortunately I had to ask a bus boy if we could see a server after sitting for 20 minutes unattended. The show was awesome, the chef & staff were a well-oiled machine, but I'm not so sure... More

We've been here before, and the food was really good, so we expected another delicious meal...and it was! This was the first time we were seated upstairs, and it was nice to see a different part of the restaurant. However, service was really slow. Good thing we weren't needy. Prices are moderately expensive, but it's worth it.

Had better experiences at Red Rooster than we had last night. We had a nice table upstairs for the four of us. David was our waiter and Steven the helper. we had to ask for water twice to start off with. Appetizers were done very well. We had mostly steaks and one steak was just barely warm. We tried to...
