Interesting sushi choices. Most of the dishes tend toward the sweet rather then the spicy. The cocktail menu is also mostly sweet drinks. Fish incredibly fresh - these are my favorite choices, though the steamed buns and soup dumplings are quite good as well. Staff are friendly, helpful, and service-oriented. Worth the drive.

The food is phenominal. We have had a lot of their rolls, the tuna pzza, love the "hot" prok shmai, the noodle, the staeak, just love everything. The staff is wonderful. They know your likes and have them ready for you. They get and A for customer service.

Whenever we want to have sushi, we go to Akai. They always have fresh fish. Service is good and it is not too noisy if you go early.

We ate here recently with a large group of friends. Seated promptly and with pleasant service as well. They made sure they tended to our large group of 8 people very often. The sushi was fabulous, I recommend the "Pain in the A**" roll, delish and with a funny name too boot. Appetizers of rock shrimp and wasabi dumplings and... More

We have been going to Akai, and it's prior incarnation, for the better part of a decade. I have always found the food and service to be good or better. Over the past six months, I have noticed a definite dip, not quite a drop, in the quality of food, but the service was always good. Today, however, took it... More

We had a nice meal of House Special Sushi rolls. There have a large menu of Japanese items and huge number of specialty rolls (about $13-17 each). We stuck to sushi. Each roll was a good size with 8 pieces; more than enough for 2 to share. Overall we were quite pleased and look forward to trying some of their... More
