This is a small, family run, kiss by bottom if you don’t like it, restaurant that has not changed since the 30’s located in an old neighborhood in Elizabeth. The menu is no big deal offering pizza, lasagna, ravioli, salads and sandwiches. The Lasagna with meatballs & sausage, ravioli with sausage and pizza are great. They do not serve butter... More

Bring cash and your own butter to this great little restaurant that's been serving traditional Italian specialty dishes like spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli, plus pizza, for decades. Ambiance is casual, but charming, with a fun old-timey feel.

Been there many times over the years. Same as it was in the 30's. The booth tables are too small for today. Need to update without taking away from old charm. To get to the bathroom you have to walk through the kitchen. The ravioli is still the best. The pizza is not thin crust. Too thick. Better NJ pizza... More

Listen if you want grandmas old school Italian food then this is the place. If your looking for al fresco fancy service and ambiance stay away! This place is an icon for Nanas style food! Enough! Now put on a warm coat and hat and get over here before the pasta gets cold!

In Elizabeth, since the 1940's this place has been THE place known for its pizza and pasta. The pizza is very good if you like thin pizza, but it has mega flavor. The pasta is IMO is the best I have ever had from an Italian eatery. They are closed on Mondays because they are cooking all day. The aroma... More

My family has been coming here for years having grown up in Elizabeth. The pizza never disappoints. Had to drop in during a visit from Houston where we now live. The interior has remained the same from the sixties which is part of the charm. Drinks are served by the pitcher and bring cash. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED!! On street... More

If you are a ravioli fan, this is your place. They are large and homemade smothered in the best sauce you have ever had. Having said that, please be aware this place has not changed since 1932. It's dark and filled with booths. There are no reservations so unless you are an early bird be prepared to wait about 30... More

My family has been coming to Spiritos practically since it opened in the 1930's. Yes, the interior is very old...but let me tell you, the food is fantastic. This place is the real deal, family owned and yes, CASH ONLY...and bring your own butter for the bread... 4 generations of my family have come to Spiritos and I'm going there... More

This is a small, family run restaurant located in a residential neighborhood in Elizabeth, NJ. The menu was small and included pizza, lasagna, ravioli, salads and some sandwiches. Our party had the Lasagna with meatballs & sausage as well as Ravioli with Sausage. Everyone thought their dish was excellent. A key thing to note is that this is a CASH... More
