Think of it as a good restaurant, with an eclectic menu, that features a futuristic diner theme. Good ingredients, creative preparations and good booze. No dude in a greasy apron behind a counter screaming in Greek here.

Tried the Skylark Diner for the first time and I have to say I was impressed with everything from the service to the food. The place has this futuristic retro look and feel which is like nothing I've ever seen in a Jersey diner. They even have a decent sized bar and serve a number of different cocktails. After checking... More

We were in Edison for a wholesale show and decided to go out to dinner with some friends. This place is really cool, transporting you back to an earlier time. It is very retro with a touch of the modern in decor. The wait staff was great and knowledgable. James had a great sense of humor and knew the menu... More

As fans of triple D, I always play around to see if there's a place that was featured near anywhere that we travel and that's what led us to the Skylark. First of all, it really is a cool looking place both inside and out. We went for a late breakfast. My wife was thrilled with the freshly squeezed O.J.... More

I am echoing what others on TripAdvisor have stated in their reviews- this place has very good, more upscale food than most other diners I have visited. They have very good salads and I especially like their chick pea salad side. I have been here a bunch of times to/from NYC and can count on a decent meal any time... More

My partner and I eat at the Skylark almost weekly after playing a round of golf. Skylark is unique among diners in that the menu was planned and overseen by Craig Shelton, a fabulous, award-winning chef (Ryland Inn 1.0). There is also a very nice, reasonably priced wine list. In addition to the usual diner fare, presented with creative gourmet... More

We had been to Skylark many months ago when I reported my husband and I didn't like the food at all - hamburger, etc. This time we stopped by in the evening. I ordered a steak sandwich; he had fish & chips. The steak was cut very thin, piled high, tender & tasty. He reported the fish was exceptional, battered... More

Skylark dinner is a nice clean basic place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. I recommend. Good food at fair price. Decent service.
