My partner and I eat at the Skylark almost weekly after playing a round of golf. Skylark is unique among diners in that the menu was planned and overseen by Craig Shelton, a fabulous, award-winning chef (Ryland Inn 1.0). There is also a very nice, reasonably priced wine list. In addition to the usual diner fare, presented with creative gourmet... More

We had been to Skylark many months ago when I reported my husband and I didn't like the food at all - hamburger, etc. This time we stopped by in the evening. I ordered a steak sandwich; he had fish & chips. The steak was cut very thin, piled high, tender & tasty. He reported the fish was exceptional, battered... More

Skylark dinner is a nice clean basic place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. I recommend. Good food at fair price. Decent service.

I visited Skylark on a quick business lunch. It was my first time here as I am from out of town. The service was very good and the food arrived quickly as ordered. I had the Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich. It was tasty and not overly filled with mayo; a good amount of chicken and overall nice flavor. The omelette... More

As an Edison resident, I've been to the Skylark many times, from when it first opened until a few months ago. At first, this was a really fantastic place and the food was always well seasoned and cooked exactly the way you would want it. It's never been typical diner food, and is definitely on the pricey side. I have... More

Food is good to above average, but it is not diner food. If that is what you are expecting head up the road to Menlo Park Diner. Good craft beer selection and interesting breakfast items, but again no diner fare. Coffee is excellent and the reason I return time after time.

Probably my favorite diner in New Jersey... I've never had a bad meal here. Its a cut above the rrst, everything looks very well made and plated, and the ingredients are not diner like... it doesn't look premature or straight out of a frozen bag like you usually get a most all diners. Highly recommend breakfast, and they have a... More

Stopped in by chance while visiting son at Rutgers. Was very happily surprised by how nice it was - great food and service and bonus was really good bar menu and drink options. Nice looking and comfortable inside. Great atmosphere too - could easily hold conversation at table. The Chesapeake Bay Crab Dip was very good with lots of crab... More
