NJ Local yet NYC experience!

We were taken to a wonderful table for two and immediately attended to. The greeting at the door and walk to our table set the stage for a wonderful experience of fabulous food and service. I would highly recommend anyone to enjoy a dinner at Pairings

One of the worse meals and Holiday experiences ever! Our reservation was for 2pm. The "buffet" consisted of 4 items: bread, fruit salad, potato pancakes and waffles. Not a single protein was available! This was supplemented by limited menu where you were allowed to select 1 item. The majority were egg dishes. There was on pasta and chicken dish and... More

Seated by the congenial hosts/ owners on the Thursday Tapas evening, we enjoyed the service, the menu choices spaced by the amuse-bouches and the post dinner offering of buttery rugallach. We found the crab cakes and the mango guacamole great starters. The lamb entree and the halibut with scallops were favorite entrees. Try the home made ice creams for dessert.... More

This restaurant is upscale without being pretentious. The owners greet you at the door and seat you. The servers are delightfully knowledgeable and efficient. The food is all home made, from the appetizers, to the sauces, the breads, ice creams and desserts. And they are all very good. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortable at the same time. Wednesday... More

I was very satisfied with our service and meal. The cute wife and husband team that I believe own the restaurant greeted us when we came in and said thank you for dining with us as well as thanked us when we left. They give you a pastry before your dinner, and as well as cookies after dinner as complimentary.... More

My husband and I have recently added Pairings to our foodie repertoire. We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood that offers a great selection of restaurants and Pairings doesn't disappoint. We come here for spontaneous dinner dates, and we've always enjoyed our visits. I had the eggplant parmesan that has the freshest pasta and pesto sauce I've ever had.... More

We have been going to this restaurant for some time now and last couple of visits were very disappointing. Food has been unremarkable as their prices have gone through the roof, and service has been lacking. We had to ask for the simplest of things and dinner plates were brought out an hour and a half after appetizers!! At this... More

Pairings is a very nice restaurant with good food, a sophisticated ambience and a friendly staff. It has a low-key but mature ambience and feels like a restaurant you might find around Lincoln Center in New York City (as opposed to our other favorite restaurant in town, A Toute Heure, which feels more like something you'd find in the West... The food is top notch like any fine dining NYC restaurant, yet in the quaint town of Cranford. BYO enables us to bring our own special wines. Service is great too.

Intriguing combinations of flavors and textures in each dish. Even the salads have a surprising array of items, and much appreciated. This restaurant is several cuts above others in the area. The high ceilings and large windows make for a relaxing, open feeling, the staff is attentive but not overbearing, and the food is pretty great. We've been many times... More
