A New York style restaurant in Cranford, NJ

This restaurant is upscale without being pretentious. The owners greet you at the door and seat you. The servers are delightfully knowledgeable and efficient. I was very satisfied with our service and meal. The cute wife and husband team that I believe own the restaurant greeted us when we came in and said thank you for dining with us as well as thanked us when we left. They give you a pastry before your dinner, and as well as cookies after dinner as complimentary.... More

My husband and I have recently added Pairings to our foodie repertoire. We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood that offers a great selection of restaurants and Pairings doesn't disappoint. We come here for spontaneous dinner dates, and we've always enjoyed our visits. I had the eggplant parmesan that has the freshest pasta and pesto sauce I've ever had.... More

We have been going to this restaurant for some time now and last couple of visits were very disappointing. Food has been unremarkable as their prices have gone through the roof, and service has been lacking. We had to ask for the simplest of things and dinner plates were brought out an hour and a half after appetizers!! At this... More

Pairings is a very nice restaurant with good food, a sophisticated ambience and a friendly staff. It has a low-key but mature ambience and feels like a restaurant you might find around Lincoln Center in New York City (as opposed to our other favorite restaurant in town, A Toute Heure, which feels more like something you'd find in the West... The food is top notch like any fine dining NYC restaurant, yet in the quaint town of Cranford. BYO enables us to bring our own special wines. Service is great too.

Intriguing combinations of flavors and textures in each dish. Even the salads have a surprising array of items, and much appreciated. This restaurant is several cuts above others in the area. The high ceilings and large windows make for a relaxing, open feeling, the staff is attentive but not overbearing, and the food is pretty great. We've been many times... More

Pairings never disappoints. We often come here to celebrate a special occasion. The wait staff is a perfect compliment to a beautifully prepared dinner. We have always been pleased. As a P.S. our alcoholic friends really like that it is a byob.

I can't wait to go back, the food and atmosphere is very similiar to a NYC restaurant. The food was amazing. The duck was so delicious and the Tuna was so tender and tasty. Roasted radish omg. Rice cake. The chef is talented to say the least. The waitstaff were very professional but didn't suffocate us either. The dessert was... More

This magnificent restaurant open for 2 years now is by far the tops in the Union County area. The atmosphere is casual but elite. The dinners speak for themselves and using all fresh vegetables and ingredients. My favorite the braised short ribs. the owners are hands on and go out of their way to accomodate you. Wednesday night is the... More
